I used to the have the “in between” length of hair. I personally chose to grow it longer to get it up in a bun for OCS.
Those that came to Newport with the “in between” length, had to chop their hair shorter with eyebrow scissors to get in regs……you don’t have easy access to a real barber/haircutter shop as a female, so I saw this happen twice.
Pick a lane, either short or grow it out unless you want to butcher your own haircut.
