Well, I got news for ya. I'm from Arkansas and I don't know a single person from my home state that can stand the sound of the name Clinton. Guess thats why I didn't get too mad at the Dixie Chicks, I said all the time that I was ashamed that Ole'Bill was from Arkansas. But, I agree with Fly-Navy, they are very smart and very dangerous people. I'd rather see Ventura, Arnold, (your own actor here) in office before Hillary "the socialist" Clinton.

I agree with jdnewso1. I do agree that Hillary is very well educated and is dangerous. I think she is an absoulte joke still. I would vote for anyone other than her running for President. I personally think she is dependent on all of her husbands connections, very few of her own. She would serve the same interests as he did and her loyalty lying with the same people who helped get Bill elected. It would be like him taking office all over again, except this time Hillary would get to have all the fun in the oval office(hehehehe)!

I think it'd be much worse with Hillary. She's more "hard line socialist" then Mr. Clinton is. She would take us to a place I don't want to go.

I hate hillary as much as anyone! and with that said, ventura running would help her, not hurt her. he would most likely draw votes away from the republican candidate, and help hillary get into office. based on ventura's policies, and background, it is a safe assumption to say that the voters he would draw to a third party would be those who would vote republican otherwise. plus, if he can't run a relatively small state that didn't have 1/3 the number of issues that the nation as a whole does, how would he cope with running the world's only superpower.

Its funny how Ventura was elected even in the first place. I think the general feeling among us Minnesotans was that we were tired of the same old Aholes from the Democratic and Republican parties. Neither party had anything to tangibly offer and we were just tired of their crap. So Ventura looked like a new beginning.

First of all, Ventura is not a good leader, he is a showboat and a media whore. He spent more time on tour with his book then in his own office, perceivably. He loved getting attention as long as it was positive. If any of it was slamming him, he p!ssed and moaned and thats all he did. He couldnt get anything done in in the State legislature because both parties couldnt stand his arrogance. He sounds like a cool dude to party with and chug beer, but he wouldnt last 6 months as Prez. And I am being kind to this gentleman right now.

That is a good point lotsoquestions. I would have to wait and see who all is on the ballot before I would endorse Ventura. If I like the republican candidate, that is who I would vote for. Hillary could not even buy my vote if she wanted it, so there is no way I would vote for her! If I don't care for either candidate, then I would probably go with Ventura. It will just all depend when the time approaches. I would love to see Sen. John McCain run for President in 2008! That is a man that I would vote for without hesitation. Other than him, there is really no body out there that I would love to see in office in 2008. Perhaps Colin Powell if he ever decided to run for President! Thanks for all the different inputs on this topic yall, it has been interesting.

Colin Powell won't run for Pres., his wife won't let him because she's scared of him being killed (of course he was in the army for 30+ years). Also, there is a lot of time between now and '08, I'm sure the Reps will come up with a good candidate, especially if Bush can hold on and win. Right now the democrats are the much weaker party, and with Hillary their only big name, they will probably remain that way. One thing to remember about Hillary, people either love her or hate her, and you can't win an election when the voters are so polarized.

Powell has already had death threats and assassination threats on him for attempting to run. He won't do it.

I was not aware of that... but thanks for the info. I agree with lotsoquestions, the democrats really do not have an ace in the hole anywhere. If they are riding on the hopes of Hillary, i personally think they are screwed for the reasons you gave. What is everyones views on Sen. John McCain? I think he would make an outstanding president... he has an excellent background and I believe would be just as tough as Bush is on terrorism.

McCain, as much as I respect him as a warrior, and I really do, is a patsy for the Democrats. He'd be one of the last person's I'd vote for on the Republican side.

Yeah, I second that one. Imagine what the Dems would do? The smear campaign would be unbelievable. No WAY would they willingly let the Republicans have a black female running. You'd see the true racism of the Dems come out on that one!

While McCain is a great senator, and I have the utmost respect for him, I question his ability to be president. If you look historically, senators generally need to have another executive position (such as VP) before being president. This is because, while being in the senate is good experience for the political process, it does not prepare one for having to manage the responsibilites of the executive brance; in their job immediately preceeding the presidency, most presidents have been govenors or VP's. On another note, while Condi Rice is an amazing woman, I think that McCain would have a better chance of winning vs any dem than she would. Just some thoughts to ponder...

rememeber, '08 is a long way out, in '00 who would have thought people would be talking about Sen. Kerry, or even dreaming about Condi in '08. However, I would love to see the dems reaction to Condi as the rep nominee... Just my $0.02...
