Is there anything more soul-destroying...

Than performance evals?
/rant/ Yes, documenting your performance is required, and I know it is just the nature of the beast, and sure, it is probably the most important paperwork you do for your career, but I wish it were otherwise.

Even after doing 'em for 9 years (OK, the two "not observed" in flight training don't count), and doing a better job keeping up with documenting everything/drafting bullets throughout the year I find it the easily the least enjoyable thing I do. Talking up everything you do, like you are the primary cog in the wheel, wordsmithing ad nauseum, ugh!

A week ago when I started I found it hard to get motivated to put it all together...sat watching every Strong Bad e-mail on Homestarrunner.com, then checked in on this website for awhile. Next thing you know I'm popping open a couple, three beers.

Thankfully it is 99% done.
/end rant/

Is it that bad for anyone else? Are Navy/Marine Corps evals easy?

Well, look at this way. We're just better which makes writing the evals/fitreps easier. It is perfectly understandable why you're having such a hard time.

I'm sure the SWO evals are easier:

"Berated gunner's mate in front of division for performance..."
"Chewed subordinates' ass due to lackluster salute..."
"Crushed wardroom steward for not bringing 3rd chocolate pudding quick enough..."
"Spent hours in deck berthing shower space, keeping close eye to ensure sea showers taking place among those sweaty, muscular...".

Hope the above doesn't make you miss being afloat.:D

Steve, about your avatar.........

I figure it must be one of three things;

1. Brett on his dream date

2. MasterBates at his court hearing

3. A page out of the SWO Training and Procedures Manual.

Am I right?

FMRAM

Combating TIP training AGAIN?!
1. Cunningly deduced through a simple demonstration with sand and a ladle that A. The wardroom couldn't have eaten all the strawberries and,
B. That the stewards had in fact made a duplicate key to the wardroom reefer...
