Final Select SNA (Sept 13th)
...........
Perhaps you are to young to remember? It does happen, this one is one day in June 1999
Yes I remember, I remember when the tornado touched down in Salt Lake, and about 2 years ago Provo Airport was basically destroyed by a Microburst. I should have said it rarly happens. When we can say remember 1999 where as Oklahoma says remember last week when...

There are TREES in utah

This was taken in my town of Provo, we are actually a nice looking state. :D I am going to miss the mountains when I leave.

Oh they are there... but they stay in hiding and then to jump out at people on ski slopes....
I had a friend tell a police officer that a tree jumped out and grabbed his car and drug it off to the side of the road... he spent the night in jail and got a whole bunch of drug testing for that line.

I had a friend hit a tree when she lost control on Ripsaw at the Canyons. They found her gloves, and much of her other gear, 30 ft from her body and she had to be airlifted out at the bottom of the Tombstone lift... she had to spend 21 nights in the hospital for that one...

That's how sunny bono bit it. I run into a tree once on a sled and hated life, I imagine hitting one while skiing would really really suck.

My Dad's been stuck at BWI all afternoon. After shifting his takeoff 3 times, Southwest has changed it to "Delayed Indefinitely".

I couldn't figure out what could be that bad, until I looked at Aviation Weather Center. . .:eek:

Same thing happened to my dad too, only he was stuck in Orlando trying to get back to BWI. He had to spend the night in the airport and was less than amused.

keep going to CO man. that's more of the goods from the best snow factory in the lower 48 for me. nothing beats 2 feet of fresh on a sunday up at the bird when all the mormons are in church. man i miss UT.

I have to fully agree with that...

I have ridden all over CO (Durango, Steamboat, Wolf Creek, Crested Butte, etc.... Never Aspen though, I hear it's a hole) and I can say that without question the Wasatch Mountains are the best skiing in the Rockies. You'll never find better snow, more consistently...

i learned this the hard way when i tried my skillz on great scott before it was getting sun... with no fresh powder. after a turn or two i was ice skating down a 50 degree slope, not cool.

never did pipeline. i never hit the bird with my backcountry gear, so i never went out the gate. i actually lived/worked/skiied at the canyons in park city so when we went over to the cottonwoods it was usually on the account of a good snow day where there was plenty of pow in bounds.

Most of our backcountry adventures were on the park city side of the range. we knew the terrain better and hence it was safer. (even ski bums can ORM, atleast the ones who don't want to get buried) I always wanted to hit Mt. Superior across the street from alta though. That face just looks epic...someday.
