We got nailed in Alexandria Va this evening as well...sky had a sick greenish purple hue going. Awesome to watch it come in.

Apparently marble sized hail came down here in Arlington, I just hope my car doesn't have 200 dents on it like the last time it got hailed on. :(

See, back in Oregon we would get that amount of rain, but spread out over a month. It wasn't nearly as exciting, or photo-worthy.

"What's it doing outside?"
"It's misting...like it's been for the last month."

At least it CONVINCINGLY rains in Florida.

Ahh but you will miss those 60+ days of non-stop rain/mist/downpours we had 7 months out of the year :)

Glad that system moved on through so it didn't delay or postpone the Mariner's game tonight (in Baltimaore).

One of the sportscasters on the game was just talking about the storm earlier and said it looked like something out of the Ten Commandments...

My Dad's been stuck at BWI all afternoon. After shifting his takeoff 3 times, Southwest has changed it to "Delayed Indefinitely".

I couldn't figure out what could be that bad, until I looked at Aviation Weather Center. . .:eek:

From my limited time living in the east coast, don't storm systems typically move NE instead of SE?

Not necessarily, cold fronts on the east in the summer often come from the NW/move to the SE.

That is what I get for growing up with a weather aficionado for an older brother. ;)

Had some wx just like that roll through Enid a month or so ago. It was a little creepy to see the storm chasers rollin through that night.

One more reason to love this place.

we never really get weather like that out in Utah. Guess the mountains keep us all cozy.

...........
Perhaps you are to young to remember? It does happen, this one is one day in June 1999
