As of 2008, I think he was still there if you went through Whiting. The last name sounds familiar and in the middle of a sim, he would say he had to make a head call. Right. If you went through in Corpus, he must have a brother.

I may have had this instructor last month. As I started the penetration maneuver: "Hey, I'll be right back, gotta hit the head."

VT's up in Milton. He was about 100 years old in the early 90's, so if he's still there, then we all should start smokin' about 2 packs a day!!

Name doesn't ring a bell from this 2005 Whiting alum.

Got my wings a while back, my number is V-16762. And no, I idn't fly the Yellow Peril.
Did live in Coronado a couple of times though. Apartments on Orange. The snake ranch with the best parties in the early sixties was 601 First.

Wouldn't it be great if they brought the "Nickel Snatcher" back for the Centennial. Ride over sober, on the way back, not so much... Good times.

And it was 'easy' to crawl from MEX-PAC to the ferry landing when we were staying @ NKX.

The first time I saw the bridge, I thought "well, isn't that nice ... " and then I recoiled in horror when I saw the 'Snatcher' had gone the way of the dinosaur.

The horror ... the humanity.

Is there a list of names available of the Naval Aviators that correspond to the signs?

I'm sure I have fellow Navy pilot buddies that live in Coronado, and I would like to contact.

Thank you, H Matt Moore, CDR USN [Ret] 951-323-7925 Fallbrook

The Coronado Historical Association (619) 435-7242 is compiling a list to match the signs names and houses. But I don't think it is finished yet. Apparently the number of Naval Aviators far exceeded their expectations.
