HELP!! Trying to make sure my fellow 4/C doesn't get kicked out of the unit

I am utterly confused. Why the hell should he tell anyone about it? That is HORRIBLE advice. There's no reason to concern your CoC over a $25 infraction. He's setting himself for a much worse situation if some fucktard feels like they need to blow it out of proportion. WTF is this world coming to?

because it will eventually show up on a background investigation.

because it will eventually show up on a background investigation.

And in today's world of data scraping, everything's on the record. Especially public record incidents, which this is. A military officer is in a public trust position.

It's probably not a problem (except for an ass chewing) if his boss hears about it from him first. But how do you think his boss will like it if he/she finds out about it for the first time from a hit on a background check?

I guess it might be worth knowing how your locality handles this sort of ticket. Is this thing like a parking ticket, or is it a misdemeanor charge like drunk in public or something of the like? I'm not a legal expert by any stretch, but I'd say that if it were a real crime (by that I mean a misdemeanor/felony/etc that actually ends up on a criminal record) then it will matter eventually.

Assuming the OP told his CoC by now...inquiring minds want to know, any blowback or were predictions of a slap on the wrist correct?
