I finally have my new M-4 set up. I ordered it back in early December, it got here about 2 weeks ago, and now I have all the gadgets put on.

Rock River M4A4 w/ free floating quad-rail system
ARMS #40 flip up rear sight
Trijicon Reflex II holographic sight
Wilson combat rail covers and vertical forgrip
Specter Gear CQB sling

Very nice. Doesn't look like you have the M-4 gov't profile barrel though.

Here is mine:

not until you add one of these:

being a young, single officer with too much free time and spare money leads to expensive impulse buys (I still wonder how I justified that to myself).

Nice rifle Vette. Never seen a Rock River 16" that didn't have the mil-barrel profile (mine's an RRA too). Slide the reflex sight and foregrip back a little further for increased functionality and a 'better look' :)... and take pictures with a 30rd mag next time :icon_smil Dig the quad-rail though.... I still can't justify $300 for such a setup yet.

I think it is great. You can wrap your left arm through the sling, and lock into the forgrip, and you have a perfectly stable firing platform. Couple that with having both eyes open and the Reflex sight and you have a great way to engage multiple targets extremely fast.

Only problem, is when you are wrapped up in the sling and locked in, it is a little hard to reload. I have found that I will actually continue holding the rifle w/ my left hand, and reload w/ the right.

Trijicon recomends the Reflex be in the position that I put it... looks awkward because I have the filter on the front... I can take that off.

I like the forgrip so far forward cause I'm a big guy w/ long arms...

30rd mags..... if I was able to buy them in this SOCIALIST state that I live in... I would. But ohhhh noooo.... I have to shell out $30 for a 20rd mag. I can't wait to move to Florida....

Very true ... I tried to get one from numerous sources last year and they were all "slated for military procurement" and going out of the country. Fine --- I don't need one that bad --- give it to the guys who really need it. So I settled for an EOTech 552 --- which I like, but I somehow feel it's second best...... guess I was going for a little magnification.

Pardon the ignorance but the ranges the M-4 is good to does it really need a ACOG?
WE had all the ACOGs on the M-16A4s and whenever we could get them the reflex sights on the M-4s

If you're still interested, PM me and I can put you in touch with the guy who sold me mine.

The EOTech 552 is AWESOME. I have one on my M1A Scout. The 1MOA center dot really lends itself to longer range shots.

I LOVE GUNS.

I love the vertical foregrip. It makes a very natural feel and swing to the rifle.

It's only a 4x32 scope. Not too much magnification. Granted, the BDC is scaled up to 600 yds, and the M4 won't cut it that far out, but it works fine out to 300, and honestly, you're not going to be engaging much past that. (besides, I don't 'engage' much besides paper targets anyhow.... so its all for fun-value anyhow)

besides... I've seen plenty of spec-ops units toting M4's with ACOGs, so it can't be that big an issue.
