I don't know...I was stuck in the 28 mile long traffic jam due to a trucker with tomatoes flipping over and the tomatoes catching on fire and melting the roads. They had to bring in road workers to actually repave the roads which caused the humungo backup. It took me 3 hours to travel from exit 143B *garrisonville* to Central Park in Fredericksburg. :icon_rage I give the stupid driver award to that knucklehead.

Any details on this wreck? A link to a story or something? It's just not me to assume a truck driver is a knucklehead. I've seen and known way too many drivers who had wrecks trying to avoid killing people in small cars who did something stupid.

Now if he was showing off for his lady friend who was riding with them, then after the wreck was just being a dumbass and set fire to the wreckage, yes, I would consider him a knucklehead.

I have seen too many semi accidents that were casued by the Four-Wheelers.

Jump in front of semi, and jam on brakes is a Boston Favorite.

Do states not teach that the left lane is the fast/passing lane anymore? Because here in NC, I've approached many people in the slow lane, only to have them get out of my way by jetting over into the fast lane. I thought I was supposed to pass THEM in that lane?

And I'm seriously considering shooting the next person who doesn't f-ing signal while in visual range of me in the face and leaving them for dead.

In my x-country driving trips (3 so far) I have no doubt that the best drivers are the guys and gals in the big rigs .... west of the Mississippi. I had a CB radio (I know, I felt like I was in "Convoy" talkin to the Rubber Duck) and they warned me that things changed on the east. I have to say I would agree.

I learned to drive, in Boston, in a 1986 Mack R-600.

52 Tons does NOT stop on a dime.. People in cars need to realize that.

I found the story but the entire fredericksburg.com wasn't working. I asked my friends they said the semi had gone more than 11 hours without sleep (apparently that's a no no for semi's?) Anyhow, I'll keep looking.

As far as semi's? My husband and I ON OUR MANY road trips have seen big rigs just flip because of falling asleep at the wheel and they don't slide which I thought, they just come to a complete dead stop. I've seen 2 accidents caused by a pissed off semi one of which was in Madison, Wi who was chassing down a motorcycle and side swiped another car. I was also taking my hub's buddy to the Reagan Airport and the semi kept trying to push me off the road. He basically was putting his blinker on and just moving into my lane with me next to him even when I moved over to the left lane/passing lane. My hub's friend couldn't believe what a jack ass the semi was being. It was 4am in the morning...so maybe that was his problem. That's my take on the big rigs...I've heard Dallas is trying to make separate routes for semi's to drive on...anyone know more of this?

It's a Jump...To Conclusions Mat! Come on now. At this point I'm not trying to defend truckers, I just wish you'd stop making ludicrous assumptions. Sure what you described happens but how do you know that was the case with the wrecks you saw?

I've never seen more traffic in my life, simply because some poor bastard was changing his tire on the side of the road. You'd have thought there'd be a seven car pile-up. The drivers suck.

Rubber neckers... we have pleeeeenty of them here in CT too... RT 15 and 95... Horrible traffic... Sometimes I just day dream about driving a damn bulldozer in between the two lanes on the Merritt (rt 15) and say to myself "THERE WON"T BE TRAFFIC TOMORROW CAUSE EVERYONE'S CAR IS F'ED UP and GETTING FIXED!"

Let me pile on this one.

I've been in Pensacola just over a week and I was rear-ended at a red light by a redneck in pickup. My wife's car is all sorts of jacked up and, as it turns out, the guy gave the cop somebody elses insurance policy number. I was told it could take two weeks to iron all this out and get the insurance comapny to pay out. Meanwhile, no car, no rental...just waiting.

I love Pensacola drivers already.

Welcome to the dirty south bro. That whole 'southern hospitality' stuff is a bunch of crap. Good luck getting that sorted out.

I hate how everyone tailgates your @ss here in Pcola. Yes I'm the A hole who slows down to like 25 mph the whole way down a two way street.

hey guys question,

During TBS are you going to be living on base or do you have the option of living off base? And if so are you allowed to bring your own vehicles?

Thanks,

Heh. You live on base at the Camp Barret barracks. If you're married you live off base. Yes, bring your car. That reminds me of all the enlisted privates and pfcs showing up at MOS school with no civilian attire because they didn't think they were allowed to have it (we really weren't allowed to have cars).
