99, If you all remember those wings that were once sold in the exchange to beautify your car, I have stumbled across a way to get them and offer them here if anyone here is interested. Webmaster has graciously allowed this space to be used, but this is new territory for me. I have no idea what the interest level in these would be, so I obtained a limited selection to see if they are still desirable.
Years ago these were everywhere and then they disappeared. I even found an old thread on AW looking for them from '05. At least as far as I could see across Hampton Roads at the time, a lot of guys had them because they're better than stickers and they can add a certain panache to your self-affirmation plan. Now I only see the window sticker wings available and I'm not a big fan of those.
These are plastic 3D badges much like the existing OEM badges, about 5 inches long (backed with adhesive tape). They're not flawless under a microscope, but they're pretty sharp, durable, and meant to ride on the back of your car through the rain. They're a little too big for your chest, but they tend to look smaller on something the size of a car. I've also seen them used on other things like mailboxes, motorcycles, office door placards, and award plaques.
The only wings I have now are pilot and NFO. There are two flavors: gold and subdued black. The gold is always a winner, but the black can look cool on various applications. The price right now is at $7.95 ea. and that includes shipping to anywhere in the United States. E-mail or PM me with your information if you need international shipping. I have no idea what the future holds for these and I'm trying to hit a reasonable price so that we can have the wings, yet not be upside down on 'em, so who knows. I have questions pending responses regarding other warfare pins (like SWO or AF wings) and I think there might be some smaller ones too, but I have yet to obtain them. Either way, I will keep everyone posted if there is interest. I'll work on getting more images posted too.
