I actually have a couple questions that I figured I'd post here since we have some Sig buffs before I go over to sigforum and ask around over there.
First question, I have a completely made in Germany Sig P229 obviously non-railed that my father purchased new in November of 94. He put about 200 rounds through it, my brother put another 70, and I've put probably 50 through it the short time I've owned it. He gave it too me as a gift about 6 months ago, and like most German made Sigs I've heard about, shoots incredibly well. It started it's life as a .357 Sig but my father quickly bought a .40 Sig factory barrel for it and that's what we've always put through it. Now the question, as much as I like it, I'm thinking about getting a newer one, railed, possibly a 229 Elite, maybe just a regular Nitron. Though I like having a few more rounds in the 9mm, I'll probably stick with a .40 and use the .357 Sig spare barrel for shooting more. If I get a good deal on a 9mm, the gun and spare barrel will get sold. Is it "appropriate" to sell an originally .357 Sig gun with a .40 barrel only? Just curious because a gun I'm currently looking at is a bi-tone .40 and I could then use the .357 barrel.
2nd, anybody have any idea what it's worth. Awesome conditon with a light scuff mark on the top of the slide and a couple small blemishes on the grip screws, but it's never been holstered so it doesn't have any carry wear. I was thinking about asking $550. Good/Bad?
3rd, linked directly with #2, if anybody's in the market for a German made 229 let me know...I figured I'd post it here first before going elsewhere. I can easily load some detailed photo's in a heart beat if need be. We'd obviously do the whole FFL deal but that conversation is for another time.
The first question is the big one, any help would be awesome, everything else is just extra.
Thanks.
