Wait . . . is that a typo? I suppose if not, there’s an answer that’s probably not discussable here anyway.
I have heard a rumor that SIPR porn was a thing at some point, although I haven’t the foggiest idea how they arranged that.

Probably the same way I saw every IT2/3 surfing Facebook on the Boat while I could barely get gmail to work.

All you need is storage and an address. If someone can build a Sharepoint of Tac Memos, I'm sure they can also create an extra directory for additional "training."

On my second deployment, the DisbO had a fairly extensive DVD porn library available for check out. Your "library card" was your military ID. People will always find a way.

What always shocked me was it's always people who absolutely know better who do these things. Like, did you just not download enough prior to deployment?

The ADP O was the kind of guy who wouldn't give you what you needed to do your jobs while on det but yet his IT3s had full on gaming setups using OneNet (Japan's NMCI) equipment. Couldn't have happened to a better guy

using OneNet (Japan's NMCI) equipment.
On the Enterprise we ‘sourced’ a full box of cat 5 cable, connectors, and a crimper from the IT shop. We then proceeded to run said cable through the overheads and link all of the JO staterooms together, had a pretty great network of everything you could imagine.

On the E, our eight man was literally next door to CAG. He knocked on our door and asked about the network. We thought we were screwed but all he wanted was a connection in his stateroom. Never heard another peep.

See, when someone said “SIPR porn,” I thought he’d found some obscure way to step down SIPR-to-NIPR real time, and I was like “woah, probably not cool.”

I didn't misspeak. On GW he was able to get away with it on the old server. Once RRN came over he was caught by the new network.

And from what I heard this wasn't just "here is the folder where the porn is kept on the network" but was him, going out and finding new porn somehow. I don't do IT but he did and thought he wouldn't get caught.
