Evil Black Rifle question

I was referring to being able to buy something back home either from a dealer or such as gunbroker.com (which ships to an FFL anyway). I would prefer to be able to buy something via visa and have my dad pick it up and take it home and put in the safe. The email I had got from one dealer stated that the ATF required a transfer direct, which im like ok sure fine. What about those of us who are in a combat zone at the pleasure of the goverment shouldnt they make some sort of exception? Such as requiring orders and ID an a power of attorney designating the person picking it up as my represenative?

I can understand the law that someone buying a gun online would be required to pick it up in person, too many variables for other people to pick it up for you.

Not to turn this into a political argument.

I always wondered why people buy assault rifle as opposed to regular hunting rifles..
Do most of you gentleman/woman buy these weapons for hunting, range or protection?

Why do you prefer the assault rifles over other weapons that are available??

You mean I have to limit myself to one type of gun? ;)

My M-4 is fun. I enjoy the light recoil and shooting with a peep site again. Ammunition is relatively cheap and I'm saving the brass and eventually will reload for it.

I also shoot hi-power silhouette with a bolt action .308, hunt with the 7mm-08 and .257 Roberts and plink and hunt small game with .22LR and .17 HMR. Been known to enjoy punching holes in paper with my .45 ACP and .357 and .22 pistols.

They're guns, they're fun. Why have just one? :D

Because assault rifles are designed to be modular. Think versatility. Throw a collapsible stock and 11.5" SBR upper on for home defense. Want to do a service rifle match? Throw on your USGI 20" upper and fixed stock. Want to shoot 7.62x39? 6.8SPC? 6.5 Grendel? No problem. The possibilities are endless, and you can do it all with one registered lower.

For the same reason people have more than one golf club in their bag.

I like to match the tool to the job at hand.

I also like to thumb my nose at the gun control crowd just because I still can. Bill Clinton sold me my first 3 assault rifles. I've never looked back.

This. Senators Obama and Feinstein and their ilk are the best gun salesmen in the world.

What if I want to "assault" a deer? :)

Use an upper in 6.8SPC along with a 5 round mag. :icon_tong

My sons and I assaulted the hell out of 4 wild hogs last month with our nasty black rifles. 5 rounds, 4 hogs. So much for "spray and pray"........

Glad you asked. :D Ahem.....It seems the only gentleman in the crowd, 2nd Lt Rocketman, required an extra shot for some reason on one of his two hogs. Something about the animal running thru the brush or some such nonsense. Us enlisted folk both went one for one.

Sounds Good

I enjoy shooting my issued M16 out at the range because it feels good and love making those holes in paper but I couldn't imagine hunting with it in my backyard ( it is a state park).

I am more of a fishing person anyways..

That would be the Patapsco and there is a fair amount of bow hunting it anyways. Have to get west of 15 or out on the eastern shore for a centerfire to be legal for deer.
