Looking to buy new BC and Octopus/Regs. Anyone have any prefs?
I just bought a Mares reg and have had it out a couple times - like it so far. Sport's Chalet has some pretty good prices, otherwise, I'd go online.

definitely drop the cash and get a dive computer too
Although computers are cool, unless you regularly do multiple dives in one day, they're a waste of money (IMHO).

more bottom time and more accurately tracking your nitrogen absorbtion never seemed like a waste to me

2 or 3 minutes may not seem like alot but when you only get 10 min of bottom time when your deep, it sure does help

BCH,

Have you visited your local dive shop? If not, take a trip down there. Personally I dont buy stuff online because I like to support the dive shops in the places where I dive. Those are the guys that will be fixing your stuff and telling you where the best spots are and such.

Ohh and to add into the dive comp debate. I have one but dont use it all of the time. I like the extra margin of safety built into hand computing bottom time.

yes, looked at the dive shops, but their prices cannot compare. Does anyone have any knowledge on the gear from leisurepro.com? Prices seem way to good.

Unless you're doing some weird, extreme profile, you'll run out of air long before you need to worry about nitrogen. So, like I said before, unless you're using multiple tanks and/or doing multiple dives, the computer buys you nothing. Navy tables work just fine and don't cost $500.

I'm not arguing with you again, as much fun as it is banging my head against a wall :icon_tong

I've done alot of wreck dives where I'm not at one depth for very long, so the table to me is nothing more than a guess

I wanted to add to this thread that I have a ScubaPro Reg and have been very happy with it. Breathing is easy and adjustments are good. Havent had much trouble will free flowing or anything. Good stuff. I also have a cheaper scubapro yellow octo which works well.

Edit. I may be dumb but why is my post count frozen at 47? Thanks, and sorry for the newb question. :D
