I just bought a Mares reg and have had it out a couple times - like it so far. Sport's Chalet has some pretty good prices, otherwise, I'd go online.bch said:Looking to buy new BC and Octopus/Regs. Anyone have any prefs?
Although computers are cool, unless you regularly do multiple dives in one day, they're a waste of money (IMHO).Punk said:definitely drop the cash and get a dive computer too

Unless you're doing some weird, extreme profile, you'll run out of air long before you need to worry about nitrogen. So, like I said before, unless you're using multiple tanks and/or doing multiple dives, the computer buys you nothing. Navy tables work just fine and don't cost $500.Punk said:more bottom time and more accurately tracking your nitrogen absorbtion never seemed like a waste to me
2 or 3 minutes may not seem like alot but when you only get 10 min of bottom time when your deep, it sure does help

You say tomato, I say... Uhh, is this even the right aphorism?Punk said:I'm not arguing with you again, as much fun as it is banging my head against a wall :icon_tong
I've done alot of wreck dives where I'm not at one depth for very long, so the table to me is nothing more than a guess
It will probably cost you your life.Physicx said:Does anybody know how much a rebreather cost?
