i got a rejection letter today,, applied for bdcp pilot and pilot 2004..stats 3.7 gpa aeronautical science, 11:08 run, 70 pushups , 80 situps, private pilot license 150 hours, dont know atsb scores but the recruiter said they were good, i guess i shouldnt have trusted him about the scores, maybe they were bad....or maybe it was the prt, but the recruiter said i only needed to get the minnimums...the recruiter said that "you may have been rejected because there were no bdcp slots" , i think this guy is wrong, they would have still picked me up for pilot then right?? i cant describe how dissapointed i am and i feel for those who have gotten the same news

That sucks man. Yeah everything looks good that you have told. Call him and get your exact ASTB scores, specifically your OAR, AQR, and PFAR. You need to have a 6 and 7 on AQR, and PFAR respectively. Sorry to hear about the rejection, but you have 6 months to reapply on the same package. So I would check the ASTB, that is the ONLY thing that I can see being an issue. Do you have any runins with the law?

no run ins with the law, not even a ticket..to be honest my attitude at the moment is to forget reapplying, i feel like the navy missed out on someone who would have been more than 120% committed,, i bet i will change my mind, if i did reapply, i could apply as early as tomorrow??

When you reapply you have to submit a letter of reconsideration. In that letter they want to see improvement in some area. Given your other stats, I would want to see your ASTB scores, I would bet they are below the new minimums. How long ago did you put your application in?

hey man I'm sorry to hear about that man. Don't take getting rejected personally though. There are alot of applications being sent in and they most likely have to turn down qualified people. BDCP isn't looking to hot right now. I applied a month ago and and the only word I've heard is that I got turned down for AMDO. I think that i'll be getting a rejection letter soon though too. reapply though man. lots of people get rejected and get it the second time around. how soon do you graduate?

man the wait is killing me

It's not over until the fat lady sings (AGE 27). You're still in the game, dude. I bet some of the best pilots out there may have been rejected at one point. I know this sucks, but understand that it's not over.

Try again dude. Dont give up. Sometimes second time around is what it takes. I've seen alot of guys get rejections. Try bein one of those guys that is a shoe-in for chief and doesnt pick it up, and thats only once a year. A little dis-heartening but ya pick yourself up and try again if its your dream. When you put it in again it will show you are not layin down. If ya dont know the exact reason you were denied dont get wrapped around the axle. Might be a money issue, like you said in the beginning. Wouldnt be the first time they ran out.

Adrenaline: Well on the upside I'm glad to hear it was just a week ago that your application hit so the fate's will be handed swiftly. As for reapplying. If you apply within the next 6 months you can use the same LOR's and PRT. You will just have to have SOMETHING that shows improvement. In your case that can be another semester of grades to show continued success, or what I'm betting you will need improved ASTB scores. Call and get those tomorrow and we'll be able to tell you more perhaps.

Keep on going. The first time I applied I was rejected due to being out of school for two semesters and having so-so grades. Someone in Millington emailed me and said if I proved myself by getting good grades I would look good for a slot. I took that persons advice, got a 3.75, reapplied, and was picked up for bdcp and sna. Hang in there and good things will happen. Fly Navy

Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy. I would reccommend calling someone in Millington directly to find out exactly why you were rejected. Once you have that key peice of info you can easily correct the problem. My advice is DO NOT QUIT!! I am positive that there are many Naval Aviators who were rejected the first and some a second time.
