Unless it’s a crowd of geriatrics, I’m not too concerned. Protect and isolate those vulnerable until treatment breakthrough/vaccine/herd immunity.
Way too much focus on people dying. They kept the meatpacking plants open, its not full of geriatrics, and not that many have died (20 employees?) but a whole lot have gotten sick and can't work, and others don't want to get sick, to the point that they had to close plants and it is killing our meat supply chain. Farms are just killing their livestock because the meat factories can't take the animals.

Apply that to other industries that will start to open back up. Or universities. Just having a big pulse of coronavirus working through the dorms is going to be disruptive.

Keeping the distance, lots of PPE, and serious test/trace. Just saying "Not that many die" and leaving the mask at home isn't going solve the problem.

Pelosi's and the Dem's "Heroes Act" proposed Coronavirus bill... What a crook of shit and nothing but an attempt to reshape society to the lib vision while securing Dem votes. This is fucking outrageous.

- Adds $3 trillion to the national debt. Total of $5.8 trillion added this year if passed along with previous Coronavirus bills. Federal tax revenue was $3.5 trillion for 2019 and the Budget was $4.04 trillion. So 2019 adds $6.34 to the national debt, up from the current $23.3 trillion. An increase of 27%

- Shields any illegal alien from deportation if employed in an essential job. The way the bill defines essential job covers 90% of the illegal aliens. Also shield the employers who hired the illegal aliens. Basically protects illegals and their illegal lower paying jobs from unemployed Americans and legal residents who could fill them. Over 30 million American and legal residents have loss their jobs and it is projected up to 42% of them may be permanent loses.

- Extends all current guest worker visas and dramatically expands the number available. Provides jobs for non-citizens willing to work for lower wages while 30 million Americans unemployed.

- Expedites and expands number of health care worker visas. 43% of the 1.9 million health care workers in the family practice field alone have already lost their jobs. This number does not include the specialist and non-Coronavirus health care workers that have also been laid off or have reduced income. Yet Pelosi and the Dems want to bring in more health care workers that will work for lower pay.

- Require all government agencies and institutions to the maximum extend possible deposit their money in minority owned banks. What does this have to do with Coronavirus. Another blatant non-Coronavirus related lib attempt use the pandemic to change society to their views.

- Order the release of all federal prisoners with diabetes, asthma or over 50 years old unless it can be shown they are likely to commit a crime against a SPECIFIC individual and not just a crime in general. An almost impossible thing to prove.

- Orders studies on how to suppress "misinformation" on Coronavirus. I.e. censorship.

- Repeals the $10,000 federal tax deduction limit on SALT taxes. Since the majority of those hitting these limits live in Dem controlled states with high taxes to support their Dem social warfare policies. The majority people this actually affects are not the ones who have lost jobs or have incomes that would qualify for the $1200 stimulus checks. This is just another attempt to use the current crisis to further the Dem/lib agenda.

- Allow D.C. lobby firms to be eligible for federal small business loans. How does lobbying fix the crisis?

Oh yeah, Pelosi is calling the House back into session on Friday to vote on this. Nevermind conditions have not changed since she refused to bring the House back when the Senate came back. The only difference is now she's finished her pipe dream bill and needs to expose the House to those same conditions that were too dangerous when she wasn't ready to push her lib agenda.

Want to fix the economy and get people employed again? End this stupid shut down and open the economy back up.
It’s all political. It’s a trap. It‘s a setup to make the Republicans and Trump look bad. Just like the naming of the (UN)affordable Care Act. It’s all about the visuals and not what’s in it.

People need to get over their fear. Shutting universities is especially idiotic since effectively zero college aged people die from the virus. Look at the numbers from France I just posted. There is effectively zero risk for young people, especially young healthy people.

Another infuriating thing is many people don't want to open back up because they're making more money from unemployment than they were at their jobs. Why work for money and potentially catch COVID when they can watch Netflix on the taxpayers' dime?

I don't really see many [reasonable] people suggesting this.
Well, the ones protesting have been rubbing elbows and not using masks and yelling. Every time I see them doing this, I think "This is why we can't have nice things." ;)

100% with you on getting on with it.

So what is your recommendation for dealing with the supply chain problem with the meatpacking plants?
Big picture: reduced production for now, just not zero production- same as with a lot of industries. That's less disruptive to the industry and to the economy than shutting it down.

Details: I'd be pulling this out of... thin air, uninformed and ignorant, if I were to talk details.

That’s what the liberal politicians wanted, by design. A non-working population dependent on government handouts.

What the libs don’t realize is that the money has to come from somewhere. Once the businesses move out of the state (i.e. Tesla), the tax dollars dry up, and the state goes broke. This leads to the firing of city and state workers (police, firefighters, etc), crime goes up, and more businesses leave. Eventually they all end up looking like Detroit.

Maryland re-opening “phase one” begins at 1700 ET Friday. Retail stores there may open but are limited to 50% of fire marshal’s occupancy.
