Commissioning Ceremony

At OCS your graduation is in cammies. For PLC, if there are guys who are able to be commisioned I believe they have a ceremony at Little Hall after the OCS graduation and they wear alphas.

If you graduate and commision at PLC, dont you wear cammies. I was under the impression that you do not have any other uniform yet. How does it all go down in little hall?

Those that will commission at the end of OCS will be fit for their uniforms during OCS. At the very least they buy a set of service alphas for the ceremony. If you complete OCS with some college left you will be on your own program to get some uniforms ready for commissioning.

How does it work if you commission at PLC seniors? Can you still have your own choice of officer do the routine, and have an enlisted friend/relative as your first salute, or do you have no choice and they send everyone through a production line sort of ceremony.

If you commission at PLC Srs, you graduate with everyone else in cammies. Then go back to school, graduate and commission in the uniform of your choice. Your OSO will coordinate the ceremony but you can have it anywhere you want, do whatever you want, as long as its in good taste. You can get anyone you want to do the first salute. You can get another officer to do your ceremony if you choose. Its your ceremony.

but what if theyre planning on commissioning you in Quantico, and home at that point is not back at school, but where ever they tell you, most likely quantic, waiting for TBS

Does anyone else's school have commissioning at graduation? At Miami of Ohio, we commission before the graduation ceremony, then take the oath again in front of everyone at of graduation. It may sound kind of dumb, but seeing a few marines commissioned in front of 25,000 people this saturday was pretty motivating. especially when they got a huge standing ovation from all those 25,000 people.
