Yup, Sacha Baron Cohen is the comedian's real name. He does Da Ali G, Borat, and Bruno, all characters on his show. When it initially aired in Britain, some was scripted... when it hit America, it was almost exclusively candid and adlibbed, him reacting to what they say. I love the guy, he's hilarious, especially as Borat.
Do a google for a video clip of him singing "Throw the Jew Down the Well"... that brought HUGE negative attention to Southern rednecks

Never underestimate the American public's ability to be uninformed. They had some ridiculous conservative chick on FOX lamenting Borat as "anti-American." Somebody please offer this chick a clue.
