Wow. Wasn't trying to start any trouble at all or be a douche. But me and my friends thought this was hilarious and is right in line with the Monseur Aviation post.

Did you even read my post? You're doing exactly what Monsieur (feel free to spell it correctly) did wrong. Tearing down his fellow JO's in an attempt to look cool. Stop, or reap the whirlwind.

The other point...what's so funny about playing tennis and sailing? What should the good Ensign be doing? Do tell...

Below is an email sent to A-Pool by another Ensign. I really hope this is some kind of joke. WTF is a Usta scale?

APOOL,
Anyone interested in playing some fairly competitive tennis? I'm probably about a 4 on the Usta scale.
Also looking for people interested in sailing. I sailed in college, but don't have the cert to rent the boats out of the marina. Would be open to even going off base to do some beer races.

ENS XXX

The guy's just looking for some like-minded folks...way to call him out for trying to be social. I got the e-mail too and thought nothing of it. The awesome thing about flight school is you meet a shit ton of people from different backgrounds with different interests. Don't shit on them, on the Internet, for no reason.

Sounds like two completely legit activities. At least the guy has the motivation to seek out like-minded activity partners.

You guys flamed the hell out of the Monseur dude, knowing fully that this forum was started by someone's blog. I guess the "older" crowd can poke fun at JOPA but we can't poke fun at our own.

In my wardroom there are gun nuts, a guy who is a knight in the larping realm, penn staters, gators, brocademy homos, wubas, people who watch the golf network religiously and pretty much any other personality defect you can imagine. They are awesome.

The only ones I do not get along with and consider my bros are the ones who've dimed me out to front office types for a JOPA matter. I don't have an ounce of piss to spare if they were on fire. Don't dime your bros out.

I'm not trying to look cool at all or put down "Monsieur"..I actually think I slightly defended him. One of our favorite things to do as Ensigns is make fun of each other. I can't count how many Tebow jokes or jokes I get about my car. We all need to have thick skin.

Hopefully laughing it off while giving it right back about whatever personality quirks (weird hobbies, dumb jock/huge nerd, way too uptight guy from abc commissioning source/way to sloppy guy from xyz commissioning source) in a social setting while enjoying good beer and good weather. :)

What happened? Thread started out in a Ready Room 'humor' vein... has degraded into a non-productive, spelling correcting spat! Take a deep breath ...regain sense of humor, or take it to PM,,,puleeze? ;)

One of our favorite things to do as Ensigns is make fun of each other.
Within your own wardroom or over a barley pop at the pub is fine. Taking the "fun" outside of your JOPA inner circle is a no no. When I was in a squadron up in Brunswick, the JO email banter was epic (especially considering we were dispersed on a tri-site). One of the "new" female JO's tried to take our internal, blood letting outside the circle of trust to folks not even in the military. This and many, "other" things contributed to her demise . . . . .

If nothing else, maybe the topic change can be another lesson, like the one above.

We had a JO who would do something similar. If you wanted info to get to the front office quickly, just leak it to him right before any kind of social function (like Friday at the club).

Yeah, are you forgetting a 1 in front of that? I have a 2000 Ford Explorer going strong at 140k.
