Best Sandwich Ever!!!

Driftwood

The pain train's coming! WOO WOO!!!
For all of you in Washington like godspeed etc. or up at NAS Whidbey or any of the other bases, check out:

Tubs Gourmet Sub Sandwiches
11064 Lake City Way NE Ste 16
Seattle, WA 98125-6730
(206) 361-1621

The sandwiches are mind bogglingly good. Toast them all, have some awesome garlic mayo, none of that weak stuff you'll find at other places. Once you try it.... Quiznos will be garbage and ruined to you forever, but its so worth it. Full size is about ten bucks which is kind of a lot if you're a student, but it's the best investment you'll make in your entire life. Well, aside from, yunno, the Navy... :D

Another place worth checking out in Washington (Seattle area):

Claim Jumper! There are only 3 in the area, but really good food, and very worth it imho. Each dish is about 2 meals worth of food, for an avg of 10-15$ per plate. Unless of course you get steak which is a bit more.

Local P'cola seafood - Chet's on Navy Blvd (or in Pea Ridge/Pace off Hwy 90). They're both owned by an ex-husband and ex-wife (amicably - one runs one, one runs the other, jointly), son owns his own boat and catches all the fish, and it goes direct to the restaurants. Beware - mostly everything is fried (as all good southern seafood is...or for that matter almost all southern food in general), but it's not overwhelming on grease like most of you have experienced. They're family-owned, have good prices, and are friendly. They're also not open every day, so call ahead. Plan on a short wait - they're good, and everyone from in town who's eaten there knows it. The original on Navy Blvd is fairly small, but the one over near Pace is bigger. Some of the best fried shrimp or grouper you'll ever eat, and you can get most everything broiled as well.

Great seafood can be found at the Original Oyster House (one in Gulf Shores, the other one on Battleship Pkwy in Mobile Bay). Yeah, it's a haul, but you just can't beat their "Mahi Down on the Bayou" - blackened mahi mahi with crawfish tails on top and everything covered in a spicy remoulade sauce.

droooool.

Oh man, if you ever had these sandwiches you would literally crap your pants they are so good; grinders, italian themed, greek themed, some with dipping sauces.

"The most popular subs include the hot and spicy Firecracker (with chicken, smoked gouda, bacon and jalapenos) and Cajun (with seasoned-turkey, cheddar, bacon and Tabasco) and the classic Joker's Dip (with ham, turkey, roast beef, smoked gouda and bacon with BBQ dipping sauce)."

They have others called the gobbler, funky chicken, phoenix, southern belle, tokyo club, godfather, and thanksgiving on a roll. Tons of sandwiches but the thing that hooked me first was the garlic mayo, my stomach is growling...I gotta go...

Hmmph. Yankees...you just don't get it. FYI, neither the "Filet-O-Fish" nor anything from LJS or any LJS-would-be does not qualify as seafood. :D

No, Rednecks don't get it (sorry, gotta use the slang term for Southerner if you use Yankee :)). While fried food is good, eating EVERYTHING fried is just disgusting and shows lack of taste and variety in food. :) Yep, I'm a food snob. And I like making fun of Southerners.... and Northerners alike. It's just too easy!

Btw, your avatar makes me laugh.

Hummer NFO To Be Reckoned With
22nd St Raw Bar down on the Oceanfront has pretty good menu, fried and not. Hot waitresses, too. It's directly across from Abbey Road. Parking is a btch in the summer, but the tourists never seem to notice it, so it's almost always uncrowded.

thanks Y'ALL!! :D

Not everything fried, but it's been so long since we've had good fried shrimp and there is such a thing as good fried food. Gator tail, clam strips, shrimp etc. Ya just gotta be wild and crazy and go for it.
Thanks for the suggestions.
