Best Sandwich Ever!!!

While in Pensacola this past weekend I had THE best sandwich ever at Four Winds. I highly recommend this international food store and deli to anyone and everyone. It was absolutely fantastic! I had the Italian sandwich with the olive dressing/spices...close-your-eyes-while-eating amazing! We also had a side of Taboullah that was also just as good. Everything is so fresh. The store itself is amazing and a treasure trove of food, candy, wine and beer from all around the world. Not to mention the owner is awesome and so helpful.

Here are all the details:
Four Winds International Food Market
Belvedere Park Plaza
6895 N. 9th Ave.
(Creighton and N. 9th Ave.; next to Blockbuster)
Pensacola, FL 32504

I was going to that place 8 years ago - simply awesome. The dude that runs it is a super nice Lebanese guy. They're always trying to get you to eat samples and what not.

Four Winds is one of the best places to eat and shop in Pensacola. I make it a point to eat there whenever I"m in town. The Proscuitto & Mozarella sandwich is to die for.

And Flounders? Come on, there is much better food there to eat. You must be new to the area :) Try The Fish House and Atlas Oyster House on Barracks St. Or The Bone Fish Restaurant near the airport. You won't be sorry.

The Fish House is great, albeit a little pricey, but definitely worth it. There's a great sandwich shop, Hip Pocket I think, just outside the NASP gate on Barrancas and Navy.

When it comes to food, you get what you pay for (most of the time) :) I'm more than happy to blow money on good food.

Hip Pocket is very good, so is Hub Stacey's. I have a spreadsheet of restaurants, as well as a web page with some descriptions, if anyone is interested. No, I will not post the address on the forum.

Server not up to it, Fly? ;) There's another Pensacola restaurants thread lurking around here somewhere. Can someone with mod privileges maybe combine this one with it?

That's my thread. I requested it be re-opened and I be given editing priveldges. If so, I'll update the crap out of it.

And I don't need to post my webpage with semi-private info on a public forum :)

Edited: It's been re-opened. http://www.airwarriors.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7122

When I was in P-Cola, then Rep. Joe Scarboro (of MSNBC) would play the blues on his guitar at the Fish House - pretty good too. Fish House rules all over Flounders (I thought that was just a place to get loaded on the cheap).

Good times,

Brett

Tried Fish House (calamari was great) but didn't think it was better than Flounders -- not by a long shot. My husband lived there throughout API so no, we weren't there for a long time, but we did love it there. Guess it's all about your own personal preference?!

Are you serious? Heh, cretin. ;) You can take your fried food. :icon_tong

Are you saying that the fish house doesn't have fried food? Not everything at Flounder's is fried. It's like any restaurant....you can order it fried or grilled. BTW, I did like the huge aquarium at the fish house. That's about all I remember about that joint.

Just razzing you, take it easy ;)

My wife and I loved four winds, we lived pretty close to it on Old Spanish Trail when I was in primary. Just like Brett said, the food was so good, the samples were so good, you go in there for a loaf of bread and come out with two pints of dip, 4 loaves of bread and about 2 or 3 bottles of wine, running you a good 60 bucks. But I never really complained....I do miss that pesto garlic dip stuff or whatever it was...
