As an avid pickleballer, you don’t know what you’re talking about. My years of tennis and racquetball have paid dividends. What part are you having difficulties with? Scoring? Kitchen? Serves?
And how do you feel about balls?
Not hitting the ball in the sweet spot…I hit a ton of balls NOT in the sweet spot and they end up going in the net due to lack of velocity. I have an avid background in table tennis where basically the entire racquet surface is a sweet spot. In table tennis, a “proximity” of where the ball is going to be [prior to racquet contact] works pretty well…but NOT in pickleball…you definitely have to concentrate on sweet spot contact regarding pickleball.

Full disclosure…a few years ago when I first started playing pickleball at our local club, I had a pretty hard time learning how to keep score. Because of this, the jacktard that was my partner totally went off on me during a game. No can do…I engaged him and we came pretty close to duking it out right there on the court while all sorts of other players were watching it unfold. Luckily, one of the pickleball instructors intervened and separated us before the poop really hit the fan. Total John McEnroe moment for me…I really wanted to kick that jacktard’s ass.
