I took a shuttle to mars once, I was the mission commander. It left from Epcot, code name: Mission Space. It was pretty cake.

You guys rock. I sent my packet in last week, just curious if anyone else was feeling the angst of working on the packet for months on end and now twiddling your thumbs for 8 months while it is sifted through.

Dont worry, I'm not planning on making this a "post your stats" thread and "what % get the shuttle."

You are correct that its over 1000 hours jet time to be a pilot - but missions specialists dont require any flight time.

That would be one hell of an approach brief.

"Alright, we are going to coast in around Mach 1 at nearly 60k, glide in across the country, and expect a left arc. We can wave off, so don't mess it up".

I'd be the one in the back with my eyes closed. Kind of like I do on roller coasters. And when getting blood drawn. :sick_125:
