I would say the same thing.Just so you're aware. Current SNA selects are receiving projecting OCS dates for FY2028 (meaning OCS date of end of July 2027 or later). So depending on her due date, I would not wait until May to submit your package. Since you're ISEL you can submit anytime before.
Age limit is commissioned by age of 32.Age limit for pilot is to apply by 33, you should be fine
What goes into the decision changes based on what is going on at the time, if there are ample applicants they may not feel a need to approve a waiver, and just because a waiver is approved doesn't mean the board will accept the waiver. This is not accurate.
It’s her due date. She’s due in February, and I turn 32 in August. While becoming a naval aviator in important to me, it’s more important to me to be there for her and the new baby, so I’ve decided I’m not going to submit the ISEL, even if that means I miss my chance. Curious as to what goes into the decision to grant an age waiver.
I understand wanting to be there for the birth of a child, just be aware being in the military means missing things like birth of a child, subsequent birthdays, holidays, kids being sick, and a host of other things. I don't know if you would have family around where you could be stationed but odds are there are times when your wife will be on her own to a certain extent, that is something you will both have to accept and if not maybe this isn't the right path for you.
