If I'm correct, usually it's 1-2 days after being posted on BOL that the NRDs will have access. I'm thinking we will hear by tomorrow the latest.

with all the requirements for degree and such they have that is one of the hardest designators to get into, congratulations!

Thank you! It was an interesting application process for the designator. Now I get to enjoy the FINSEL letter purgatory!

Did you have an interview with the 10th fleet Admiral? Initially CWE would go to ODS and then get commissioned as a LTjg, not sure if that is still the plan.

Congrats! What are your stats if you don't mind me asking.

Hi Luke. Sorry about the tough news, but you will definitely get there if you stay the course!

My stats are:

Pro-Rec Y: Intel
Active-Duty Intelligence Specialist First Class
BA Poli-Sci 3.56 GPA
OAR: 48
Awards: 1 JCOM, 1 JSAM, 4 FLOC;
Senior SOY FY15, Junior SOY FY14, ISAF Service Member of Month FY 12-2, four SOQs

Evaluations: EP 1 of 1 frocked (E6), EP 1 of 11 (E5), EP 1 of 5 (E5), MP (1st PO2 Eval)
Interview Appraisals: All 10s - Two O-7 (1 Intel, 1 Aviator); Four O-6 (4 Intel, 1 NFO), One O-5 (Intel)
LOR's: RADM (Intel) Former JCS J2 and currently the senior Intel Officer in the Navy; the Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence; OPNAV Command Master Chief; Deputy Executive Secretary at US Department of Treasury

------------------

I'm confident the most beneficial thing that helped get me selected is that I'm currently filling an Intelligence Officer (O-3) billet at the Pentagon. I'm the first enlisted Sailor in history to provide the CNO and VCNO the weekly intelligence update, have also briefed several DCNOs, DDNI, and MCPON. I have authored a lot of work that is seen at the highest executive levels of our Navy have a very diverse history in my short time in the Navy (Intel/Operations center in Hawaii, time aboard a Carrier, IA deployment to Afghanistan, and currently stationed at The Pentagon.

On top of that, I've been very fortunate to receive a lot of Senior Flag officer support both in and outside of the intelligence community. Send me a direct message and we will find areas to improve your package and get you over the top!

Hello, I would like to pick your brain on how I can improve my Intel package. I was PRO REC "N" but this was also my first time going to final board. It gives me great encouragement that persistence pays off.

Hi Andrew!

I just posted my stats if you want a baseline, but go ahead and send me a direct message. I'd be happy to help you improve your package!

Hello and congrats!!!!

What did you do to improve your application?

Hi, Kareen!

So I thought I had a really good my package my first go around, but I did everything I could to address my weak areas. I improved my OAR score by a couple of points, added a couple of additional interviews from senior officers OUTSIDE of the intel community to show diversity, was awarded Senior Sailor of the Year for my directorate, and (most importantly) added a letter of rec from one of the most senior intelligence officers in the Navy. What REALLY helped is how personal he made it. He not only addressed any perceived weaknesses in my package, he added a hand written note as well.

So when you submit your package, think diversity, and do everything you can to ensure those going to bat for you make it as personal and direct as possible. Send me a direct message if there's anything else I can do to help.

The fact you are currently in the field is a big plus, the fact you have access to the people you do that have seen you in action is a huge advantage as well that few if any people can duplicate.

FYI, OAR doesn't mean much when talking a few points, I would put money that it is your current job that resulted in you getting selected even though you have a non tech degree.

I interviewed with officers that are currently serving under the IWC umbrella. I did not have the pleasure of interviewing with Admiral Tighe. In regards to ODS I believe your commission is Ensign upon graduation, I can always ask my recruiter if that is still the process.

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to everyone that made it!
I was pro rec N for June. This was my first time applying so I'm going to keep trying. I'm currently enlisted, and I think my biggest weak spot is the fact that I am not in the Intel community. I managed to get a LOR from an intel O6 and a couple of interviews from intel LT's and CDR's among others but I guess it wasn't enough. Does anybody have any advice for me to get some experience in the community? Anything is appreciated.

My stats:
2nd class petty officer, enlisted 6 years
Evals: from most recent: EP, EP transfer, MP, EP frocking, EP

Education: AA in counter terrorism studies, BA in international relations (GPA of 3.4), currently 9 credits completed towards MS in intelligence management (4.0 GPA so far)

OAR: 48

LOR's: intel O6, SEAL O6/commodore, seabee O6, and 2 seabee O3's I directly worked for

Interviews: intel O5, intel O3, supply O5, SWO O5

*I have already scheduled two more interviews with intel O5's. I am going to adjust my essay, too, and look on Navy Cool to see if I can take an IS course or something.
