12 JUN 18 IWC Board

putting an IWC choice as #2 is essentially the kiss of death, for the longest time if you didn't put an IWC designator as #1 you weren't going to get selected. Supply is pretty much the same thing. IWC and Supply have very low selection rates, sometimes as low or lower than 10% while SWO can be much higher.

And now SWO seems to even want being the #1 choice to get picked! I guess put whatever you want most as #1 and cross your fingers, knock on wood, and stand on one leg to even get considered for your #2 choice.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I saw someone who did the same thing that I did and ended up getting a pro rec N for SWO, but a yes from INTEL, so I guess it’s not unheard of. We’ll see what happens!

So I see you on the list, IC2 - but it depends on which designator you'd like to know:

11603 - 17 - This is SWO-IP
11604 - 1
18000 - 6
18100 - 66
18200 - 50 - IP
18300 - 146

Some of these numbers are the same people.

@Vincent thank you! That's awesome! Do you see the breakdown of fleet v civilian applicants for 18200 and 11603?

Had to run back to the CCC office.

SWO-IP 11603 - 17 (Fleet - 6)
SWO-METOC 11604 - 1 (Fleet - 0)
METOC 18000 - 6 (Fleet - 1)
IW/CRYPTO 18100 - 66 (Fleet - 14
IP 18200 - 50 (Fleet - 20
INTEL 18300 - 146 (Fleet - 27)

I wonder how much designator position really applies to fleet applicants? I would love the SWO-IP route but rumor is they are going a different route for selection. Honestly SWO, IP, SWO-IP it doesn't really matter much to me, they all seem like great opportunities!

I haven't had time to check past boards but has anyone looked to see typical board lengths? I k ow things vary but just wondering if there's an approximate pattern.

The March 2018 IWC Board took exactly a month for results. The December 2017 IWC board took about a week and a half for results. The September 2017 IWC board took about two and a half weeks.

Is there something wrong with this thread or has there really been no one posting since last Friday?
