1001 questions (and answers) concerning BDCP

Sorry one more question i asked my recruiter when i would take the PRT and he said "I'll have you take it approximately 30-60 days before you are due to leave for OCS" but I'm seeing you guys say there is an initial PRT when BDCP starts or something? Want to know if I'm about to take it soon here or not.
Are you in the program?

Applied to this current board (JUN01) for SNFO so not yet but i just wanted to know assuming I'm accepted when ill take the PRT cause i see you guys talking about Initial PRT's and how important it is to not fail them so i want to be prepared. also if im accepted OCS is like a year and a half away

You’ll take a PRT if you’re accepted when you swear in

once you’re in BDCP you are considered active duty and take the PRT the same with AD counterparts.

You need to pass one to be in the program. While you’re in the program you’ll do one every 6 months and then the one that counts is the one before OCS

From what my recruiter told me is that we have to do them but the scores don’t necessarily go anywhere. It’s just to make sure we aren’t physically unfit. I’m sure your recruiters would work with you if you fail but the easier option is to put in the work and not fail.

This. My recruiter personally told me you need to pass the initial PFT, if you fail you are allowed to retry 2 days later, if you fail that one "your contract can be terminated" in his words. I don't know if that means it WILL be terminated or if it CAN, but regardless I'd still just train your ass off to make sure you can pass.

I've shaved off 2 minutes off my run in only a month of training, pushups and the plank will get better the more of them you do.

This terrifies me because I'm at the JUN01 board for NFO and I'm not prepared for the PFT. My 1.5 mile time is like 15.30 I'm currently running 2 miles a day to get my endurance up before i test myself again. also need work on my pushups. But i have no clue when ill actually take the PRT like will it be when i heard back from my recruiter or will my recruiter get back to me and likely give me a month to prepare or? just don't know if ill get a warning so im just training as if it could be tomorrow.
