In terms of adaptability for the math section, I’m seeing different gouge. Some people are saying they only answered 10-15 questions and they were moved to the next section, and there isn’t a set number of questions, just 40 minutes to do as many as possible

I'm pretty disappointed that I didn't make ISEL standards of 7/7/7 and am not feeling confident about my scores. I completely underestimated and underprepared for the first test and thought that I should just take it and see how it goes. For my 2nd and 3rd attempts, I prepared with a Hotas joystick thruster and the TBAS steam game, ASTB study app, Gomez resources and the gouge from Airwarriors (quizlet, printed study guides, etc), and hired an in-person tutor. Things that I noticed about my test:

1. Math section did not ask me at all about logs, matrices, quadratic eqns, or time rate problems. Maybe because it was adaptive and I didn't progress to that level of questioning
2. I only had 1 or 2 questions regarding probability, shape area, and interest
3. Physics did not ask me any formula-based problems that I can recall
4. Most reading comprehension practice questions I feel did not properly simulate the vague questions asked on the test
5. I panicked too much on the directional orientation and made stupid mistakes while not speeding through fast enough to get as many questions in as possible. I waited for the voice prompt to finish speaking instead of just going for the answer

I've aged out of eligibility for USCG flight school after applying to OCS twice and getting waitlisted as an alternate this last cycle. I'm still dropping an SNA flight packet for the next board but I ain't holding my breath, and I'm not sure about ANG or NG given they have less slots. Enroll in ROTC if you can, or join the USCG University auxiliary/regular auxiliary if possible (my mistake, I did not research this while in college even though the Citadel was right down the road). Research all you can, get after it early and aggressively, and don't rely on one single resource. Best of luck to everyone.

Sorry to hear that, but don't lose out all hope. I've noticed people apparently getting selected for scores similar to your's based on the excel spreadsheet.

My math section definitely asked me about logs, matrices, e.g. As a matter-of-fact, my math related questions became so difficult that I was not even sure how to proceed (and that's coming from someone that has relatively recently went through three levels of calculus, applied linear algebra, and discrete mathematics). I hope this doesn't come across as gloating or arrogant by any means, just wanted to give my experience.

This portion was timed for 40-or-so minutes for me, and became progressively harder.

The reading comprehension portion was... odd. Towards the end of that portion it felt as if none of the provided answers were quite correct, and I had to choose the most compatible of vague options.

I agree with you on the reading comprehension, same case for me. I'm just beating myself up about the math and physical science because looking back, I realized I missed a few questions that I def knew the answer to, but I panicked and just picked one. I should've worn a regular analog watch to keep time instead of taking off my apple watch at check-in.

There is a set number of math questions, 30. You have 40min to do as many as you can. The system will determine when to send you to the next section. Could be after 12, or take all 30.

I have gone through past posts and seen lots of feedback on how to connect via Windows. However, I only own a MacBook and I have done extensive research with no luck on how to connect. Any help is appreciated!

I have ASTB prep app and got an USB C to USB adapter into my USB C port. Mine works on the ASTB prep app!

I was not able to get the X52 to work properly with the Jantzen simulator (webpage application), even with AntiMicro X.

However, the X52 connected immediately to MacBook, and worked right-out-of-the-box for the ASTB Prep application from the App Store.

Edit: as mentioned previously, you will need a USB-C adapter
