01JUN26 SNA/SNFO board

I have a quick question abt this. Would you still want to retake it (with a 9 PFAR) if the next board is more than 6 months away? I could be wrong but isn’t the window before you can reapply with the same scores/gpa 6 months? I feel like it would be a bit of an unnecessary risk if you can just wait. Obviously if the next board is soon you’ll want to.


Section 4-30

"(2) An updated applicant’s motivational statement within this new APSR, in which the applicant specifically requests reconsideration and states the new items in their application that make them more competitive for professional recommendation.

(3) New or updated information that makes the applicant more competitive for professional recommendation including, but not limited to additional education, professional certifications, new employment or additional scope of responsibility. If only submitting new letters of recommendation, then the application will be considered for submission at the discretion of the division director."

While aviation boards might not see the exact improvement, CNRC will and require it. You simply can't state "I just copied and pasted my same application 6+ months ago".
 
In my case would it even be worth the risk?

Ik that there technically is room for improvement especially on the OAR but I feel weary about it since I really do not want to risk losing the 7 9 8.
you could try the marines. If you can pass their PFT, you'll get a pilot slot most likely. They're not backed up like the navy is. It's almost you need to be ISEL now a days for SNA. Or start your civilian pilot training, if you want to be a pilot. You can get commercial rated in 10 months if you grind. and have a flying job by then. Who knows what board applicant timelines are
 
Good to know, however if you look at the PAs ISPP is a much better program.
So I did look at both and could not find any advantage to applying via ISPP if I already qualify for ISEL. The ISPP PA states "following the URLO ISPP selection panel, NRC will notify selectees and process them to attend OCS" and the Pilot PA states "any officer applicant that meets criteria for immediate selection will bypass the normal Officer Candidate School (OCS) PROREC board pending review from the Officer Community Manager and be processed for shipping to OCS as soon as possible". To me, those both read as "if you apply this way you will be processed for OCS". I could be missing something from a recruiters perspective though.
 
Update:

Recruiter told by NRC that packages in this batch should all receive a pass or fail by COB tomorrow, expect to hear back later this week or early next week after processing results.

Apparently this batch was larger than he was expecting, hence the delay.

Based on my recruiter’s phrasing, it seemed heavily implied that we would NOT see results on PRIDE tomorrow.

Good news for everyone: our packages are confirmed by NRC themselves to actively being looked at and should be completed soon. Sitting on a metaphorical desk at NRC is your package with a pass/no-pass tomorrow evening… they just need to give it back to us, and that apparently takes another week.
