    Anchors Aweigh

No mp3s with the whole lyrics? I've really only heard the "Anchors aweigh my boys..." part actually sung. Is the rest actually sung?

    Anchors Aweigh

Anyone know where I can find Anchors Aweigh with vocals? I googled everything I could and only came up with the orchestral version. I feel like I should at least know the words before OCS, and it's easier for me to learn knowing how it matches with the tune. Thanks!

    Stats and Scores

Oh, M/24 8/8/8, 65 Excelent Low PRT LORs: 1 O-6, 1 O-5, many O-1s and O-2s. B.S. in Aerospace Engineering in 2004, 3.7 GPA M.S. in Aerospace Engineering upon completion of thesis, 3.8 GPA (I think) I have worked for roughly 2 and 1/2 years at a defense contractor (F/A-18s and P-8A design...

    Stats and Scores

Geez... With those scores you shouldn't have much problem. Only thing to worry about is the GPA. I don't know what's on the rest of your app, but those scores speak for themselves.

    August OCS Review Board

I feel your pain guys... took me a full year to get the final select (selected on 2nd app). If you're just waiting on a Pro-Rec, it could be the start of a loooong process. The last few weeks after I knew they had my packet were terrible. Hang in there...

    MAV vs UAV

Agreed, that is the thought I think at this time, or at least you control them "warcraft" style and let them go to waypoints on their own. But the aircrafts themselves will still be expensive. They won't be easily replaced unless you build them crappier. So a "swarm" of high tech UAVs is...

    MAV vs UAV

To add some nauseum... The only benifit of a UAV is taking the pilot out of the aircraft, but is that always the best idea? - Someone still has to make the decision on when and where a UCAV will drop bombs. (OK, no more U-2s) - Someone will have to tell it where to go. It may have some...

    Sept 9th, 2006

Awesome aerospec! I'll accept PM's from anyone wanting to coordinate as aerospec suggests. It might be nice to have dinner or something with fellow candidates before we get into OCS. So September 9 OCS candidates, shoot me a PM with your name, email, location, future navy job, etc, if...

    JUL 20 Board

I got my orders in the mail yesterday. I'm scheduled to swear in tomorrow... you may have to wait a few days/weeks to get everyone to sign off on your packet. That seems to be what happened to me. Just hope you aren't sent to OCS a week after you're informed.

    Pipeline Info

By my recruiter's measurement, I mean the quick measurement that the recruiter takes just to make sure they're not wasting their time on someone way out of limits. I grabbed this from another post (credit to feddoc)...

    Pipeline Info

Hmm... looks like that and a good search on anthro + P-3 helped a lot. According to one of the linked documents, the only concern to fit in one is the buttock to knee measurement (since I'm tall). I don't recall what the measurement my recruiter got, but I think it was well below 28". I'll...

    Pipeline Info

While it appears that my anthro will limit me to Props/Helos (I'm 6-5), I was wondering if there were any good buried threads about how the pipelines work. I tried searching, but I couldn't find anything. For example... What training pipeline would I go through for the E-6? What pipeline...

I wasn't in NROTC, but I was in AFROTC for a couple of years. In AFROTC, they were just happy you passed your first one. While VMI may be different, not many get the perfect 300 during any of their 4-5 years of college (when I was in AFROTC it was out of 400 or 500, so it may have been even...

    JUL 20 Board

I found out that I got selected as SNA for the 9 September OCS today. However, my recruiter told me that I had already been through the board and selected pending medical clearance. Whether my documentation went back to the board for a final check is unknown.

AFROTC to x commision to USMC as pilot question

I was in AFROTC for 2 years (right up to camp) and I never heard anyone doing anything like this. I know a girl who quit AFROTC and then got a guaranteed pilot slot in the USMC, but she wasn't about ready to commission. From everything I've seen, you'll have to go through OCS again. If the...

Boeing Flies EA-18G Wingtip and Jamming Pods for First Time

A significant milestone in the flight test of the G was reached today at PAX River. As no full up G's have been produced yet, it was an EMD aircraft with mods. I'd go into more detail, but I'll wait for the official announcement... don't want to steal the anyone's thunder. Should be an...

    Board Recommended?

I may be in the same boat as you, so to speek. My recruiter told me two fridays ago that my medical cleared and I should/would probably hear good news soon. He didn't give the specifics you gave, but from what I can guess it looks like we're around the same point in the process. I still...

    Next pilot board date?

My recruiter called me last Friday and told me that I should hear good news soon. I am going to go crazy waiting like this, especially if they don't meet until Monday. He also said to expect that they would most likely send me to OCS sooner than later. Anyone ever had to change their OCS...

    Grad school

I'm interested in the same sort of thing. However my wife will have her M.S. in Aerospace Engineering. She'll be looking for a Ph.D. in either Biomedical or A.E. Not a lot of engineering jobs near the Naval Air Stations are there? She's worried that she won't be able to find a good job if...

I've done a little design work on this bird, hopefully I'll be flying it one day. The only places I'm sure it will be are in St. Louis (when I'll be at PAX) and PAX River NAS (when I'll probably be in St. Louis). Keep your eyes peeled for a stop near you...
