This is just my opinion, but I believe you'd better be doing way better than a 250 to be "comfortable" at OCS. You should be running a 270 or higher at least. Anything above that may help you to be a little more "comfortable". You should only be doing a 250 if you're hung-over, have the flu...

You'll have a strained face while carrying the log if you're tall like me. It's like you're carrying the whole damn thing yourself! If you're 5'8" the log probably won't beat you as bad.

I talked to a sports medicine doctor and he said Spenco are pretty good. That's what he recommended. I'd bring two, one for your running shoes and another to switch between your jungles and ICB's.

You'd have to get stationed on the East Coast or with a unit that travels with East Coast ships to do a Med - which is unfortunate because it seems like such a better cruise. However, I don't know if I'd trade the West Coast over a deployment experience.
