I'm not knowledgeable about the college program, did you pay for your tuition on your own dime? The way I read the reg, if you were USNA or ROTC and had tuition paid for, you don't qualify for the MGIB. At least, that was the reason I was given for not being able to take my benefits.

What I was referring to was the MGIB. Everyone qualifies for the post 9-11 GI Bill. If you paid into the MGIB but then subsequently went to the Academy or ROTC, then you don't qualify to receive those benefits anymore. I'm in the same boat as you, I'm trying to get my money back but no one...

Yeah, I saw that happen first hand in boot camp. A guy did something, don't know what, but he didn't tell his recruiter. Our RDC's came and jerked his ass out of training lightening fast, then proceeded to beat the rest of us in the division while telling us this.

You don't need a current medical but if you've had a medical in the past they need the number. With everyone doing IFS now that means they all have a 3rd class, whether still valid or not. Of course there's always the exception, but that's the general idea.

The way I read what Flash wrote was that a college can ultimately boot a ROTC program off campus if they so choose, thereby removing potential scholarships/commissions. The Academies, however, will always be around providing that sure source of fresh O-1's.

Don't believe the recruiters if they tell you it's no problem to switch once at boot camp. It's pretty much impossible, so like has already been said, if you want it do it now.

From talking with guys that know more about it than me, they can apparently "work", just not that well. It depends a lot on how snugly the cylinder mates/seals with the barrel. Then again, no revolvers (that I know of) are tapped for a silencer. That may be the whole chicken or egg argument...
