Yeah, Bakersfield is a hole. Driving by on the interstate, I say PLYWOOD SHANTIES. Disgusting.

What're you doing shooting HI in A-G mode? Bad! Must be set in LO.

Yeah, no banner tow for us... and our gun is fake, makes a "gun" sound on the ICS... gay. Lots of bomb dropping though :)

I came out with exactly 246.8... some come out with more, some less... some were closer to 300, but the average was about 250-260 I think. That's not counting sim time.

Oh, I know. Don't know crap coming out of Advanced... but have done so much more than your average civilian pilot of similar hours.

300 hours flying a Cessna in VFR conditions is 300 hours of flight time... but it's still only flying a Cessna in VFR conditions. Military flying (as you know) is much different from civilian flying. Some adapt well to it... some don't. Just remember, when you get your wings out of T-45s... you...

    after API

Your composite score out of Meridian has nothing to do with Primary or API, unless that changed since I winged in March. Composite = 4 * [(Ground NSS * 0.1) + (Flight NSS * 0.9)]

Cecil Field vs. Oceana...not done yet!

Wow, I've flown to China Lake. There isn't ANYTHING there. It's not near anything either.

    I had an idea!

Yep, just fill out your profile. A simple "high school student"..."BDCPer"..."Naval Aviator"... whatever is enough. Just something to establish a baseline. Don't expect people to take you seriously until you do so, most won't even reply to you if you have no profile.

I didn't get mine until a month before I winged. That was over 2 years after starting API.

  33. Fly Navy

    Kingsville or Meridian

The planned length for Meridian is 1 year. Kingsville is slightly shorter, but because of slightly better flying weather and a ridiculous penchant for double-pumping, Kingsville will tend to finish in about 10 months. Doing better at the boat? No, that's not true. Sometimes Meridian does...
  34. Fly Navy

    Kingsville or Meridian

It depends how far into the program you are, why you attrited, etc. Someone that attrites at the boat or in Phase II has a decent chance of switching pipelines.

    Kingsville or Meridian

Meridian - glass cockpit, useful HUD, modern avionics and navigation suite. A very good chance you'll end up in a Hornet vice a Prowler. Both towns suck... Krock has CC about 1 hour or so from it... Meridian has Birmingham and Pensacola about 2.5 hours from it. Pick your poison.

Made Staff Sergeant. He was medically discharged due to severe wounds from Vietnam. He was honorably given the rank of Gunnery Sergeant from the Marines due to his continued "service". I think he earned it.

    Smith & Wesson??? "new" M&p??

It doesn't matter. With good ammo, and more importantly an accurate shooter, it doesn't make a lick of difference. The 9mm vs .45 argument is a farse because it only considers FMJ ammunition. Like A4s says... hit your target. Practical pistols are weak. Use a rifle. :)

Details details. 200 ft is pretty fun though, never thought I'd feel 500 ft was "boring".
