My vision is 20/20 and 20/25 now after 11 months or so. I had trouble with my vision for maybe 2 months before the healing really took over. I dont know these "aberations" you speak of after PRK. I had the full custom job and the results are awesome. As far as not seeing as "sharp" as 20/20...

My eye doc insisted that PRK is a better procedure in the long run. Just get PRK and don't even worry about LASIK. It sucks for a few daysand itll take a few months to see well. It is oh so worth it though.

There is a command eject on the S-3. The pilots seat is always set to command eject, the cotac can be set to either command or single eject. The seats in the back are only single eject (unless someone up front from pulls the handle). That was the training I recieved before my flight in the S-3.

Training for the 1.5 is easy. Run for 3+ miles 3 times a week. Cake.

It would certainly press your time. At one point we had a guy who was on the football team, but he eventually quit. Granted that he was also an engineer, and NROTC can take up a lot of time. But it may depend on the sport.

Gotta get your Firearm Owner's ID from the state of Illinois. I'm from IL too and turned 21 in July. Go to the Illinois State Police website and print off the form for the ID and send it in. Plan on it taking about month to process. You need this to do ANYTHING gun related in IL.

Purdue has a HUGE flight program and NROTC is totally cool with it. There are quite a few Aviation Technology majors in our battalion, you get credit for a tech major too.

I was one of the lucky mids that got a ton of flight time. Had the standard T-34 flight, but I was paired with an S-3 squadron so I got an hour ride in one of those. Had to go through all the ejection seat training etc. I also caught a ride on a P-3 for 6 hours or so.

No summer camp for us. We go on cruises with real units instead. The staff picks the officer billets for the battalion, we aren't automatically "officers" like the air force side.
