It's my understanding that anyone post-field training is on scholarship and/or contract. Does the AF even allow you to switch without serving any of your active duty commitment? I can definitely understand your sentiments in wanting to switch.

I second the Monterey recommendation. I drove through Salinas and stopped in Monterey overnight. Had some pretty amazing sushi and there's tons to do down there. Salinas...not so much. I'm surprised the Blues are stopping there.

I went to Magic Mountain this summer and rode nearly every coaster. It's got nothing on CP.

Ditto on Cedar Point. Their "Top Thrill Dragster" coaster held the height record from like '04-'06. I rode it in '04 and the two-hour wait was well worth it. 0-120 in 4 seconds is incredible. Cedar Point also has the most roller coasters in the world, so if you're ever in Ohio, definitely stop...

I called the unit at my school and told them I was interested in joining CP. They directed me to their recruiting officer and he e-mailed me an application and forms for the physical. They said they get about 20 CP applicants every summer and take about five.

I can't find many posts that describe the "Crosstown Experience". I'll be going to WSU next year (which doesn't have a unit) and am heavily considering being a crosstown College Programmer with the University of Idaho. What kind of experiences have any former or current crosstowners here had?

I took my FAA practical with a former SR-71 RSO. The manual was on his shelf, that thing is so damn thick. Needless to say, not an easy grader, but I have my license and can't complain.

I know you mentioned that video being "thrown together" in another thread. You have some awesome footage and good syncing with the music, I think it's great. Good choice with Plow by Sponge, really adds to the feeling.
