Quick Question About Getting a Gun License

Your local Sheriff's Office should be able to print you electronically for your license. It greatly speeds up the process. The license is good for 5 years, and, as of today, you only have to be fingerprinted with your initial application, not when you renew which lops about $50 off the cost.

HR 1022- It's BAAAACK!! ... do the Dems want your guns ?? Assault or otherwise??

Wow! I'll bet the criminals and gang bangers are quaking in their boots, knowing that some of their favorite firepower will now be illegal! Ummm, doesn't the government sell the M-1 via the CMP? So if AWB2 passes, will it make them illegal arms dealers?

    State Taxes For Military

I became a resident of Texas as soon as I hit my first duty station (VT-27 / Corpus) and maintained it throughout my carreer. Retired in Norfolk in 1995, and not like cold weather, snow or taxes, immediately moved to sunny Florida!

Fighter Pilot who doesn't talk about himself?

"The average Navy pilot, despite the sometimes swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring. These feelings just don't involve anyone else." Not sure where I first saw this....... :)

The Great Flight Jacket Thread (wearing/buying Leather, NOMEX, WEP jackets/patches)

I did a lot of sewing in my long and illustrious Naval career, but even being the PR god that I am, I wouldn't touch putting new cuffs in a leather flight jacket. It's very difficult to do correctly on a flat bed sewing machine and since the knit cuff, leather and inner lining all tend to feed...

Best places to wear a uniform...

Ocean Venture 1986. Liberty call in Miami. Skipper (Tom Hayden) called for dress whites first day in port. You could hear the wailling and gnashing of teeth throughout the ship. Got to Miami, and you couldn't buy a drink if you wanted to! 90% of the crew wore whites the remaining...

    Officers rooms on a carrier?

They're huge! I watched exactly 10 minutes of 1 episode of JAG (by mistake) and when the Marine "orderly" showed the star (hell, I don't even know his name) to his temporary stateroom on a CVN, it was the size of the Captain's in-port cabin and had a porthole! See all the things I missed...
