Ah, my school has ended my student account. Use this for now until I figure out another place to host it. http://marinegouge.com/mediawiki-1.6.6/index.php?title=Aviation_Selection_Test_Battery

3-point slings are standard issue now. We've been using the parade slings up to now, through rifle qual, but we had a 3-point class for Table 2 of the rifle qual, and should be using them on all field ops. The last few companies have.

Monster Marine OCS thread: stupid questions answered here!

Parcels, sure. Just know that any packages and envelopes that seem to have stiff items will be opened in front of the staff to check for contraband. Not all the staffs let them keep newspapers, but that's a safe bet to send (or at least clippings) until he gets his first liberty in three weeks...

    Wisdom Teeth removal

Well, I sort of lucked out. Cases they judge to be "urgent" get scheduled for a removal during the cycle, preferably before one of our 72's. I was told my teeth aren't going anywhere, so I don't need to get them removed at TBS. He recommended getting it done during Pensacola. The bad news? I...

    Wisdom Teeth removal

Thanks for weighing in. I didn't have the time to get tricare prime setup over break, and dental screening is tomorrow, so I'm at the mercy of the U.S. Navy. Bravo company is only overbooked by five at this point so I'm not too worried about getting dropped.

    OCS Boards

There are Company and Battalion boards which consist of the Company and Battalion staffs, respectively. You only appear before them if they need to consider your status at OCS, which is usually either if you DOR or are having trouble at OCS. If you are recommended by your Platoon Commander for...

    Tests (I have a question)

For a Marine flight package, you'd need to take the ASVAB or waive out of it with 1000 or higher on the SAT. This is coming from the OSO I'm on PTAD for, but yes, your OSO is your most reliable source of information.

    TBS Gym

It was kind of strange seeing LT's in Q-town rocking jeans and a t-shirt all the time; then hearing at our Mike Co TBS brief that the attire was to be "identical to OCS". The LT's I'm on PTAD with (one still at TBS, the other just graduated), say the same thing that's being said here - look...

I just signed up for the USAA career starter loan, it's currently 2%, 25k, 60 month term. I didn't think about the deposit aspect and might sign up with a third bank with branch coverage. A lot of people have recommended Bank of America because of their coverage; any experiences with them...

    Topgun

Definitely worth a watch. Pros: Quantity and quality of flight scenes Quantity and quality of chicks No gay volleyball scenes No campy 80's music Cons Campy French music Campy B-movie plot Couldn't avoid Top Gun cliche shots. The first flight sequence looked almost identical to the beginning...

Monster Marine OCS thread: stupid questions answered here!

Marine OD green is the color and I have two of the shirts. They're comfortable, but bad for field use.......you don't want to get caught in a fire with them on. They're fine in a training environment where you aren't liable to get in an accident. They're issuing a similar shirt in boot camp...

    Wisdom Teeth removal

Are wisdom teeth removed as a matter of course after commissioning and is it possible to take care of it while I'm on leave/PTAD? Background: At my flight physical I was told that my wisdom teeth weren't likely to impact (they're turned sideways), but the Marine Corps would take them out...

Rogue Warrior was interesting; his books were fantasy trash. That and they got kinda repetitive; I stopped after four or five. I see he was an advisor for GI Jane and season 5 of 24. Explains a lot.
