the ACLS in Mode 1 on the Hornet can bring it all the way to touchdown with hands off the stick & throttle ... in Mode 1A it will get you to 200 feet before the pilot takes over ... an ILS or PAR can also be flown. semper fi

when i left Kingsville last year they were still making new guys stay in the Q for 6 weeks after checking in, but most guys, myself included, went ahead and got a place out in town anyways & paid for it out of our own pockets ... you still have to keep a Q room for 6 weeks though. semper fi

Jack, those guys are called bottom feeders. the Harrier cut-off is around a 45 NSS ... to get the boot out of Advanced for a Marine is around a 40 NSS, so a person would be treading on thin ice to try that route to the Hornet. another thing is if a person can't fly a T-45 and get an average NSS...

hi it's nice to be proactive like that but just because you have the manuels, you still won't know what to study, and if you haven't gone to TBS yet, you might want to be looking for those manuels first and not to even worry about API or flight school. semper fi

you can be guarenteed a Aviation contract, you're not guarenteed a SEAL contract ... if you flunck out of BUDS training or get hurt, you'll then be busting rust on a surface ship or sub ... in aviation, if you don't get jets, you're flying Helo's or P-3's my 2 cents worth ... Jar
