    Personal GPS with Falcon View?

Yeah, I have no idea how many the squadrons are equipped with now, I remember seeing at least 5 or 6, back in the day. They were used both as a backup on transits and operationally, "and that's all I have to say about that." The main problem we had was the brightness of the screen. Some...

    Personal GPS with Falcon View?

We use Falconview all the time, but the squadron supplies the GPS and laptop...I'd wait until you get to your Fleet squadron to see what they're issuing before buying anything.

    P-3 Life

Mal, I don't know if this is even what you meant by your question, but from a P-3 perspective, shipping the wife out is a bad idea. IF you are ASSURED you will be somewhere for a SET period of time, knock yourself out. I've had Skippers expressly forbid it. I don't have a clue how other...

    P-3 Life

There is no way I'd spend big bucks to ship my wife anywhere in a scenario depending on our ever-changing ops/crew manifests/aircraft status. It would suck to have to call the wife and tell her you can't make it, but have fun with the guys going instead of you. Keep in mind when we do det...

KBay...it's just an awesome place to be. No matter how sh!tty a day you might have at work, you walk outside the hangar and it's absolutely beautiful. I never had "island fever". There's way too much to do. If you don't like the beach or the outdoors, I guess I could see someone getting...

The problem with your idea is these augmentees are not going to ground pounder billets. You're missing the point. All I'll say is this, we had a good time, if I remember correctly. Unfortunately, that weekend was also during the oh-so-important NROTC basketball tournament (oh Jeebus, if this tournament does not go well, we will all be the worst officers to ever hit the Fleet, blah blah blah). We raised...

Designate someone to act as the bank (there's usually one non-drinker in the group). Cut them a check from whatever fund you can, have them take this and go to get ones and fives. That way, no one can say "oh I didn't bring any small bills". 'Fvck you, pay me'

    Drawbacks of the Military

Just a note on Ultrathins...they're great as your "good set", but if you have to wear them everyday (God help you if you do...I do...) they get dirty and are impossible to clean. I use the normal ones and just replace the ones that get dirty (Comm and Battle E mostly). The Ultrathin ribbon...

Fmr: Don't even bother buying AWGs until you hit the Fleet (hopefully TFU will wake the fvck up bu then, but I doubt it). Most of the time, it's a squadron wide thing, as in everyone will wear them or no one will. Often it's dictated by location and weather (they're great in cold climates...

DLAB measures you general ability to learn a language. DLPT measures you ability with a given language. 99% of the time you have to be in a billet that specifically requires language skills for language pay. So SNWhatevers usually do not apply.
