They aren't, but a fighter isn't really offensive. They can't really project a lot of power with that plane. They don't have any big wing bombers. Nor can they have aircraft carriers. Their current fleet of fighters is pretty modern though and their pilots are well trained. I'm not sure...

Normally I'm not into one-upsmanship, but I thought I'd speak to my state's laws :D Alaska's requirement for CC - if you are legally allowed to own a firearm, you can conceal it. No special permit (though there are provisions for a permit to allow for reciprocity with other states)...

That's correct (unless you have monkey arms). This is why it's good to have a good relationship with your FEs. Throwing stuff is frowned upon as it creates a FOD problem. Now, having a stick, that'd be handy.

I think the spouse is wanking because she likely used to get saluted before they actually stopped you at the gate (pre-9/11) and only identified the officers by the sticker on their car. As the gate guard couldn't tell if the person driving was said officer or not, he or she would snap a salute...

Here's my take on unions - being totally unqualified in my experience with them... I'm normally not a fan, however, having known many commercial pilots, and seeing the above stories from some of our commercial guys, the union does indeed protect pilots. I'm not sure pilots deserved to get paid...
