    To future OCS candidates...

Don't stress any training you are going to do. Someone who is weaker than you has done it before, and someone who is dumber than you has done it before, and if those weak, dumb, sons of bitches are making it through, you should be fine.

    New PT Uniform

Here is HQMC logic: "Our Marines have to purchase new uniforms regularly, so we will give them an additional once a year bonus to help defray the costs of said uniforms, and everything adds up." Here is PFC logic: "My sweats are barely even ripped at all...Beer money it is!" Edit: Not that...

    Why are trousers bloused?

But I thought all Marines were automatically fearless by virtue of being Marines, and all soldiers were spineless whimps? Your explanation doesn't seem to factor Branch of Service into the bodies stress response mechanisms, therefore I reject it in full.

    Why are trousers bloused?

I told the guys around me at OCS: "I'm not telling you to unblouse your trousers...but if they happen to come undone as you are running out of the Quigley, hey, you aren't gonna stop to fix them..."

    Left handed pilots

Left handed pilots have an advantage in the Huey, because when you are hands off (not flying) your smoking hand is much closer to the ashtray. Righties will have to reach around the cyclic to reach flavor country with their dominant hand.

WHO DO YOU LIKE for Pres ... ???

Hillary in Quotes from pro-war hawk to anti-war activist. I think this is one of my biggest beefs with Democrats lately. Many of them voted for the war, but now they are against the war??? Last year they said "The President is a dumbass because he didn't have a plan to send in enough...

It is not a prohibited substance that will "pop" on a piss test. If it was, half the Marine Corps would be getting hit on it probably. Article on L-Arginine (the principle ingredient in NO2 products such as NO2, NOXplode, etc...) Creatine does not have any negative side-effects. It is found...

I was in that Company that got our libbo canked. I know in my heart of hearts that I am "harder" for it though. I wrote my girlfriend a letter during the night land nav course. Finished up pretty quickly, then I just went out into the middle of the woods after I got my last box and laid out...

V-22 Osprey: Wonder Weapon or Widow Maker?

Correct me if I am wrong, but won't the UH-1Y be able to take up a lot of the work in the CASEVAC role? The "new" hotrod T-700's (According to Bell = 125% more payload and 50% more range) should allow it to actually put PAX in the back and STILL do stuff (like clear the hills around MCAS...

    Air Museum

Went to a local Air Museum this weekend (one of the largest), thought I would throw out a few pictures of some planes they had on display Spruce Goose: To get a feel for it's sheer size, notice the aluminum tail section on the right side - that is a DC-3. B-17 (Flying Fortress)...

Monster Marine OCS thread: stupid questions answered here!

The difference between this and bootcamp (especially as a MECEP) is that in bootcamp you want to go home and they won't let you, and at OCS you want to graduate and they keep telling you they are going to kick you out. That was the only thing that got me was the mindfark. I got put on platoon...

    Marines And Navy Differences

Good God man, Are you seriously prepared to make such a life altering decision based on a few cookie cutter stereotypes from a diverse sampling of two people (The Naval Officer said join the Navy, the Marine said join the Marines, didn't see that coming). 1. You will get better accommodations...

I used to be a uniform whore. Spent an hour a night on cammies and would reiron the blouse at lunch (when I was actually wearing cammies that is), spit shined every night (including safety boots). New cammies I don't do shiat too. I used to glue my pockets down, and was going to have all...

Does the USMC have a similar program?

    Marine Ocs 194

My school sent two midshipmen to seniors this summer who had PFT's in the 230-range, both failed the initial PFT miserably. You get something like 3 hours of sleep before the PFT, and it is hot and humid as hell. Also the instructors are pretty hard on the pullups. I would not want to ship...
