    Army to Coastie Transfer (kind-of)

Hmmm, interesting situation. I'll have to pass on trying to speculate as I have absolutely no clue. Maybe another Coastie in the Forums has an answer, but if not, 1-800-GET-USCG is a great start or talk to a local recruiter. Good luck to him!

    Coast Guard DCA

I'd say the Coast Guard views the program as a successful way of drawing in experienced pilots without the incurred costs of flight training.

    FY08 DCA Boards

I saw in the Military.com forums that the selections are out. There is a thread in the Commissioned Officers section of the Coast Guard forums. http://forums.military.com/eve/ubb.x/a/cfrm/f/67919558 I'll check the message boards when I get to work Monday for it.

    FW bonuses?

I found the old message from August of 2000. Depending on the contract you signed depended on how much Aviation Career Continuation Pay you got. 2-YEAR CONTRACT PAID IN ANNUAL INSTALLMENTS OF $10,000; TOTALING $20,000. 3-YEAR CONTRACT PAID IN ANNUAL INSTALLMENTS OF $12,000; TOTALING...

That's why I posted it in the "Coast Guard" forums. Jeez....

    FW bonuses?

Yes, CG bonuses. Last time they did them was around 10 years ago from what I remember.

    FW bonuses?

Anybody hear anything about fixed wing bonuses? I thought our CO had said something about it being discussed pretty hard at the last CO's conference. I wasn't aware a lot of FW guys were jumping ship to justify bringing the bonuses back.:confused::confused::confused:

    Good Starter Headset

BOSE nice canceling headsets are definitely the way to go only if price is not an option. I'm guessing price is an option unless Uncle Sam's paying for it. In that case, you can go wrong with a trusty set of David Clark's.

    USCG Aircraft

It's definitely a sweet plane. I rode back on one once from South America for 5 freaking hours. State of the art......all glass, HUD's, new car smell! It would probably be my aircraft of choice if I couldn't fly the one I'm in now.;)

    HC-144 at KNPA

The program is moving along. Some say very slowly, some say normally for a new acquisition aircraft. I wasn't around, but I've heard when the Falcon's came online back in the 80's that they had some of the same issues the CASA (or should I say "Ocean Sentry") is having. They just had their...

    Coast Guard S-3 Vikings

Hey, all....new to Airwarriors. It's good to see a Coast Guard forum. I just talked to my bud up at headquarters to get the inside slant and the S3 is officially a dead deal. I didn't get the details on why it was officially nixed, but it doesn't look like it will happen. They better slap...
