MarineOCS.com has some good info on it. Big thing about tanks in the Marine Corps- There are very very few of them. The North Carolina National Guard has more tanks than the entire Marine Corps. We had two slots for tank Os when I was at TBS- they went to our two water walkers.

I really enjoy flying gliders. I did it while waiting for API and Primary to start up- and did it some more on the weekend on Primary. I still do it here in Kingsville a bit. If you want to get some time in the air just to have fun then I would suggest finding a soaring club and going from there.

I wasn't a fan of Armstrong. I stalled at 15 for more than a month. I had a couple of people tell me that Armstrong can be a bit aggressive and that some people need more recovery time for their muscles. However, after 30 days of P90X I started hitting 20+ max sets. YMMV

Absolutely no harm in rushing a Guard unit. You may even find you like them. I know it's the pointy nose side of the house but at one point 1/2 of my Old Man's unit was either Navy or Marines who had left AD because they were tired of the BS and wanted to just fly.

Depends on when you are there. Have to score a 98 on every exam because they raised the NSS? Sure, that's pretty tough. Or were you part of the 35 and still alive crowd? Then as long as you didn't fail an exam you were sailing smooth.

You're arguing for the AF on a Naval Aviation website. AF gives you a flight suit through you college, Navy/USMC/USCG makes you earn it through the Aviation pipeline.

FWIW my little bro said that there was a higher attrition rate with people who had a few hours of prior experience at AF IFS that ones who didn't have any time in his class. YMMV.
