    Moody AFB for Primary

Now, easy there cowboy...I had enough problems learning the T-34 that I was scared ****less going rotary-wing...so it was my last choice. I was PRAYING that my NSS was good enough that'd they'd send me C-2/E-2 (knowing this is the "less desired" tailhooker). Alas, they sent me helos and I'm...

    Which Academy?

Actually, to back this up, I did hear that you have a better chance of flying if you go Naval Aviation and based on my friends who went both USAFA and AFROTC, this is probably true.

    I was quoting...without quoting. I apologize. I knew I read that somewhere b4 :o

    CAP or AFJROTC

Remember to enjoy your childhood too...but I'd say you're a pretty good candidate. Don't do things for other people...otherwise you'll soon realize that you're living THIER dreams...not yours. Just my 2 sense. ~D

I read your other posts, so I know what you're asking. I'd say neither and both...I didn't apply for the academy, but one of my HS classmates did. He was an eagle scout. I know that that specifically gave you "points" on your application, but there are many other areas. If you don't do...

    Downright pathetic

My best friend has the idea that these type of conspiracy theories are true. Either way, this jacka$$ going to military funerals is going to spark some sort of violence and that's what the courts should address...not free speech - like yelling "Fire" in crowded theater is not free speech.

    Which Academy?

Hell while you're looking at it, look at VMI, Citidel, Norwich, VT/TA&M Corps of Cadets. All are the same "Type" of commissioning program with a military background...(IMHO "academy" with out recognition except by own alums) Also don't think that getting into NROTC is any easier. It's just...

    Question for Navy Wives

How did I know that you'd have to throw in something and that'd it be EXACTLY that. As for my own reply: The Navy pays you well, sometimes better than other times, but especially once you deploy. ESPECIALLY if you are DINKs (Dual Income No Kids) the key for my wife is doing something she...

    Silly Shoe games

Indeed, MMA. Anywho, Steve...my point was showing that some aviators don't only excell in the cockpit. CAPT Lupton is certainly a character and a mentor in my community of cargo haulin' and SAR hole-burning. ~D

And the Comanche isn't coming along anymore. MH-60S and MH-60R. True to it's MULTIMISSION capabilities. And to emphasize a previous point...keep an open mind and focus on the SERVICE aspect of being an aviator...whether it's haulin' the fleet's $hit or dropping serious firepower...

Aviator Retention Poll Results - INTERESTING READ

Rep points for reminding us that service is just that: service. Nothing against people that decide it's not for them as long as they SERVE the rest of the time they said they'd give. Just like being a reservist now-a-days...it's not just free money.

Aviator Retention Poll Results - INTERESTING READ

It looked like only 52 of the 99 polled were "eligible" to be included...so I'm thinking that some people who didn't do it were either too busy (surprise surprise) or didn't give 2 $hits. D

    Buy or Rent

Yes, it does. The closing costs are usually mostly paid for by the buyer. If you are looking to sell when you get orders than you'll probably have sunk 6-7 grand in creating loans that you'll pay back when you sell. Depends on what you'd do with the money. Sinking money into a home has...
