A friend of mine who just reported to NAS Pensacola for API told me that all SNAs without follow on orders will be sent to NAS Corpus Christi for primary...can anyone give the yea or nay on this one?

Most programs will only have you complete your 3rd class qual to start with; most schools can only do up to 2nd class anyway as I believe 1st class requires a tower.

I agree that it sounds bogus, but who knows what they will do for $$$.

If you can read this.. It is kind of hard to see but look what is written right under the centerline...pretty funny.

Just curious, during my limited experience ashore and afloat as a guest of VFA-122 I didn't see super hornets using afterburner during cat shots or when trapping; that isn't to say they never did but it did not seem that it was needed. The C/Ds usually did, am I missing something?

Another great program for you to check out is the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps. I was in it during high school and my unit was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. We had a ton of interaction with the Marines so don't let the Navy uniforms turn you off of a great program...

Thanks for all of the input, I've shot my friend's XD .40 a few times and really liked it, my main concern was if the XD(M) was worth the few changes that came with the increased price tag. Looks like I will be buying one in a few weeks.

UF and MB, I completely agree with both your points, my biggest issue was with the tone of the post rather than the arguement that was made in that post and in others on this thread. I will upgrade my skin and move on, have a good day gentlemen.

It is great that you can sit back and armchair quarterback this issue, but some people have a real stake in these programs. My mom works at the C-17 plant in Long Beach; if it goes she loses her job and my parents lose their house. I agree that dead, inefficient programs have no place in...

-Great Gouge, I was with a HSL squadron out of NASNI this past summer for my 1/C cruise and flight time was pretty limited. We were cut loose at about 0800 everyday which resulted in most of the mids taking off and complaining about lack of flight time...we're talking 2 hours of it over 33 days...

The Tillamook Air Museum is a great visit, they have a TON of aircraft, including a surprising number of WWII warbirds in flying condition. I've been twice during my time at OSU. Attached is a pic of me with the NAS sign.
