well, here's the update. I'm 2nd Lt Duke, as of noon today, and i have orders to report to TBS on 25 November (i THINK that's Thanksgiving day...kinda weird). OSO's already started making calls about getting me switched to pilot, so we'll see how that goes.

my OSO is still saying that he's working under the assumption that i'll ship out next thursday. i find it kinda hard to believe that Fox Co isn't full, and hard to believe that they'd actually get all of the paperwork together and orders drafted in time. either way, it's kinda piss poor to run...

ok, found out today that i'll be commissioned this saturday, 28 aug. still no word on TBS ship date. i'm thinking november.

still no word. the plan was to get commissioned on saturday (28 aug), then report to TBS next thursday (2 sept). am i crazy, or is this pretty unlikely at this point? hopefully so-if i don't make this TBS class, i think i'll have a better shot of getting my switch to pilot approved.

well, i submitted the NFO package a couple of years ago, after i did PLC Jrs. at the time, i couldn't be a pilot because of my eyes (acuity was ok, but astigmatism was slightly out of limits). seems like maybe at the time a doctor told me that PRK wouldn't fix my problem, but i can't remember...

ok, first of all, i don't know if this is the best forum to pose this question in (maybe general naval aviation or the NFO forum would be better), but this question will be somewhat specific to a Marine aviator. i just graduated in May from N.C. State (degree in mechanical engineering)...
