thanks for the responses. I'm in the same boat with JSUocs, my blood pressure seems to increase when i'm around medics. i think if i can just make myself relax and do some deep breaths before, i think i can get through it.

For those of you have gone through OCS, what happens if your Blood pressure is elevated to higher levels, especially the top number? Mine is always normal except for the fact under stress, or due to nerves, my top number rises above 140. should I be concerned about this at the physical? Michael

guys, I submitted my package, with NFO being my first choice, around the same time as aoconnor(sept 15). I found out i was rejected a week later. but got picked up for supply. so maybe no news is good news. but it shouldn't take them forever to make up their minds. people have lives to live...

I think all the rejection posts rolling in have really depressed a lot of people lately. It's good to see a lot of people are trying to serve the country in the military though.

beth, holy crap! Some of those manuals were nearly 75 or more pages. A lot of the stuff was 'basic.' I was told though that the instructor only goes over what is tested.

Isn't possible to be given an OCS start date in 03(pior to Oct1) but be considered an 04 candidate because the graduation date occurs DURING the 04 fiscal year. So it's still possible to get an OCS date as early as July-August of next year if you send in your app. asap.

when I started the process, I was surprised to learn that the Navy doesn't interview officer applicants. I think that's why recruiters have to write an applicant write-up, which is something like a recommendation. I know AF and Army interview applicants. don't know if the marines do or not.

rhollin1 Have you completed your EPSQ and application for commission? If so, i would think you're set to go. I don't understand what your recruiter means by saying there are still 'functions' to be completed. The EPSQ can be time consuming and annoying to complete.

I heard that eating at OCS is pretty rough because of all the protocol that the Officer candidate has to follow. Is it true that there is no socializing allowed during meals--at least at the beginning?

I've lived in Pcola for the past 13 years. Some winters have been mild and some have been pretty cold. I believe highs avg in the mid 50's and the lows in the upper 30's in Jan. Winters can be pretty wet too.

hey ghost, it could be worse..we could be applying for air force OTS. The board convenes once month, yet it takes them 4 weeks to release the information!

semi-news came today. My recruiter called to tell me that my package had passed the first screening at the supply board. To really be competitive for the supply board, he said that I needed to redo my prt. I need to get at least a good low. I can do that, so tomorrow I'm off to re-run the prt.

goliath--that makes sense. the recruiter told me that he had a 'contact' up in Millington. Maybe this 'contact' provided him with the info. regardless, I hope we hear something this week from the supply board. I couldn't possibly go through another weekend without knowing.
