No, these do not show up on NAVADMINs or other messages. For Fleet folks it goes out to BOL which is a front-facing part of the Electronic Service Record, and for Civilian Accessions it goes out to the recruiters.

There is a grand list of everyone who made it and who did not that gets posted to the CNRC sharepoint, but the forum policy explicitly prohibits the posting of such lists or telling other people if they made it or not. Sorry I cant post it, just poke your recruiter/COC because they should have it.

Did you get picked up for intel?

Just got the call! Im in, ProRec-Y for....Oceanography?! Lol, i applied for 1-Intel, 2-Crypto, but apparently, there was some supervisor on the board who played the role of 'The Giver', and decided which community would suit candidates better. I was shocked to hear that it wasn't a glitch either, but, I was also considering Oceano, especially given my STEM background. I will post my stats now, because I was a bit tentative I might not get in.

No Prior Military Service
Age: 23M (soon to be 24)
Undergrad: Boston University, B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, GPA: 3.33
OAR: 66 (ASTB: 7 6 7, but decided against aviation because of my eyesight)
Attempt 1: Intel/Crypto (Prorec-Y Oceano??)
Not a stellar extracurricular/volunteer resume, but mentioned my brief stint in BU's Rugby and Rocket Propulsion groups/clubs. Track in High school (NYC specialized high school), avid amateur kickboxer and powerlifter

Edit: OCS date, early November 2020

For the active duty people I now have a solid line to check the Fleet selectees.

Please message me directly with your name if you would like me to check.

For the civ applicants, I apologize but I cannot get your stuff.

This isn't uncommon for those with tech degrees, they will put you where they think you should be. That started when there was some discussion years ago at a meeting where an intel officer i know was at that that there was a long term plan was to eventually have all IWC designators as just 1 designator. Who knows if that is still on the radar

That's interesting, and makes a good amount of sense. I wonder if that is partially why some of those who were accepted a while back, were given full choice in all IWC communities, despite only applying to a small subset; to encourage the choice of Oceano, especially considering that it was advertised that it is a small, extremely low acceptance community that typically required a Masters/ and some seniority. I was considering putting it as my number two pick, but I was worried it was a "waste' of a pick that would potentially lead to me doing another package submission. However, with such a close OCS date, it it beyond tempting, because this package was 2 years in the making. I thank my recruiter for sticking through thick and thin with me, especially considering a nasty car crash I experienced 4 years ago which lead to a medical paperwork nightmare.
