It’s been a while...I left AD in 1992.

It's like the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs. Both sentences are way easier to remember than the entire alphabet (with the letters in the correct order no less).

It was a 60B thing that I never personally experienced...I think it was the test screen for some part of the 60B? LAMPS bubbas help me out here.

Yes, it was the test screen while the SACs loaded., along with the diagonal lines and the "hook that goes on a long journey" across the screen.

the ones i know who attrited, stopped trying months before they were booted. ive never met an attrite that knew all the knowledges but couldnt get the stick skills. show up prepared and your instructors will do the rest.

I do, and he’s kicking ass as an NFO now.

I'd say it's rare, but not impossible. Instructors are there to teach, but some people just cannot fly the aircraft. While rare, and often given a little extra training, the push when I left CNATRA was to minimize the ET and only choose people who could actually acheive the metrics within the flight time allotted.

Currently seeing this being implemented. With the new JPPT/1500 changes, it’s harder to fail specific events, but easier to attrite if you do, especially when it comes to check rides in primary.

Yeah, the goal, understandably was attrition earlier = less cost. It frankly looks similar to how when I went through flight school ('11-12 time frame). When I first started teaching, it was a little out of control, guys were passing with 7-10 failures from API-Advanced. We had one SNA alone fail 5 events in Advanced and still passed the program. It was too much.

All kidding aside, CNATRA's argument was the standard is the standard. If they meet the standard, they get the wings. If they don't, they are attrited. The grades are auxiliary to the standard - that allows people to have the selection they want.

this person also struggled in the fleet. (Shocking, I know)
